Hidden Valley - The Puzzle Park sits in a wooded valley just outside Launceston, and does exactly what its name promises: almost everything on site is built around a puzzle, riddle or hidden detail rather than a straightforward ride. Visitors work through a choice of themed puzzle trails - including Sherlock and Indiana Jones-style routes pitched at different difficulty levels - hunting for clues and solving challenges as they explore the grounds.
The centrepiece is the Forbidden Mansion, a purpose-built Victorian-style house packed with interactive challenges, alongside The Study, a dedicated escape room, and an Ames Room - a classic optical illusion experience that plays tricks with visitors' sense of scale. Beyond the puzzle attractions, the park also has a maze, a railway, ornamental gardens, and the Tanglewood Hollow play area for younger children who want a break from puzzle-solving, plus the Watering Hole Café and gift shop.
It's a genuinely different kind of family attraction for the area - closer to a themed adventure trail than a conventional theme park - and works well as a half-day or full-day out combined with nearby Launceston or the wider Tamar Valley.

The Ames Room at Hidden Valley uses the same forced-perspective illusion first devised by American ophthalmologist Adelbert Ames Jr. in 1946 - it can make two people of the same height look wildly different sizes.

Ample free parking is available on site, with smoking restricted to the car park area only.

Most pathways are unpaved gravel and aren't easily accessible for wheelchairs or mobility scooters - a reduced disabled-visitor rate is available, with a free carer ticket.
