A gallery, art shop and studio in the heart of St Ives
Barnoon Arts occupies the first floor at Tregenna Place, right in the centre of St Ives and an easy walk from the railway and bus station, the harbour and the town's beaches. The space combines a working art gallery showing rotating exhibitions - including dedicated Peter Giles and Zoe Eaton galleries - with an art supply shop stocking materials such as Winsor & Newton paints, Seawhite sketchbooks, brushes and canvas, and a studio space used for the business's regular programme of classes.
That teaching programme is the heart of what Barnoon Arts does: outdoor sketching sessions around St Ives, watercolour landscape classes, open drawing classes, portrait drawing from life, and full one-day studio workshops covering everything from pen and ink to gouache, abstraction and colour theory. Classes are pitched at beginners and above, run for both adults and children, and private sessions and parties can be arranged directly with the studio.
It's a genuinely hands-on alternative to the town's larger galleries - somewhere visitors can watch, buy, and actually have a go themselves, taught by working artists rather than just browse finished work on a wall.
Opening Times & Class Prices
Open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, 12pm to 4pm. The gallery and shop are free to browse; private sessions are available by appointment.
