Minions Moor

The picturesque hamlet of Minions is a designated area of "Outstanding Natural Beauty". Located on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, Minions boasts fabulous views out over the surrounding countryside. Naturally, this is a very popular area for both walkers and cyclists, with easy access to the moors and many quiet country lanes to explore.

Minions is the highest village in Cornwall, lying 995ft above sea level. In the village you will find tea rooms and the famous 'Cheesewring' Public House, which serves excellent food and a host of real ales.

Corrish Mining Heritage at Minions

East Cornwall's mining past is manifest by the redundant engine houses alont the edges of Caradon Hill - a reminder of the region's links with the Cornish mining tradition long since gone. The railway at the Cheesewring opened in 1844 was used to transport the silver-grey granite to Liskeard and Looe for export, the old track is still visible in parts and is often used by the rambler or horse rider to explore the area.
