Gwithian Towans is a unique Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with three and a half miles of sandy beaches, ideal for family holidays, walking, touring Cornwall and surfing. It has a huge expanse of level, family friendly sand which at low tide extends from Godrevy Head all the way to Hayle. The World Land Speedsailing Championships are often held
here and it is also a popular location for kitesurfing and windsurfing.
Gwithian Towans sand dunes border the beach and provide excellent opportunities
for walking and exploring. Car parking is available and there are good local facilities including a cafe, beach shop and toilets. Dogs are not allowed on Gwithian beach between Easter and October 1st but it is dog friendly between October and Easter when dogs are allowed. Sunset Surf beachside café and licensed bar is open all year round, serving high quality food and drink, served fresh and prepared from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients wherever possible. With breathtaking views of the beautiful St Ives bay, from Godrevy Lighthouse, along Gwithian Beach and across to St Ives, provided is the perfect setting for you to relax and enjoy. Gwithian Towans is about 4 miles from Hayle and 20 miles from Truro. Approach Hayle on the A30 from east or west. At the Loggans Moor roundabout take the turning for Hayle. Shortly after the roundabout there is a double roundabout. At the 2nd roundabout turn right onto the Gwithian/Portreath road the B3301. Shortly before Gwithian turn left onto a small road to Gwithian Towans (signposted to Gwithian Towans)
