Wedding Venues by Area
North Cornwall. The north coast is known for its rugged cliffs, surf beaches and fishing harbours. Venues range from a secluded estate above Port Isaac and a manor near Wadebridge to a beach-side venue at Newquay and a harbourside hotel in Padstow, with tipi weddings in the countryside at St Kew.
West Cornwall. Around St Ives and the Penwith peninsula you will find a historic ceremony room overlooking Porthmeor Beach, a beachfront estate at Carbis Bay and a castle in its own gardens and woodland at Praa Sands.
Truro, Falmouth and mid Cornwall. The cathedral city of Truro, the harbour at Falmouth and the sub-tropical Helford River gardens make this a popular wedding region, with a Tudor castle, a Grade II listed hotel, working-farm barns and a vineyard venue all within reach.
East Cornwall. From the parkland estates near Bodmin and Lostwithiel to underground caverns near Liskeard, a riverside hotel at Fowey and a fort on the Rame peninsula, east Cornwall has some of the county's most distinctive venues.
Plymouth and the Tamar. Plymouth has country-house hotels and manors on its doorstep, and the Mount Edgcumbe estate is a short crossing away in Cornwall. You can also look across the Tamar into west Devon for the Horn of Plenty at Gulworthy.

Tips for Planning a Cornwall Wedding
- Book early – popular venues, especially for summer Saturdays, are often taken well over a year ahead; weekdays and off-season dates can be easier to secure.
- Check the ceremony licence – a legal ceremony must take place at a register office, a church or an approved venue, so confirm what the venue is licensed for.
- Think about guest travel – many Cornish venues are down narrow lanes, so consider a coach or minibus for guests and check parking and access.
- Plan for the weather – Cornish weather can change quickly, so ask what indoor options a venue has for outdoor ceremonies and photographs.
- Ask about accommodation – some venues include rooms on site, which can make the day simpler for you and your guests.
