Buses reach most towns and many villages in Cornwall, and long-distance coaches link Plymouth, Truro, Newquay, Falmouth and Penzance with the rest of the UK. Local services are branded Transport for Cornwall, and the timetables, tickets and app for them are on the Transport for Cornwall website. Cornwall Council also lists Traveline South West as a journey planner covering all operators.

The local bus network changed in February 2026. First Bus stopped running local services in Cornwall on 14 February 2026, and from 15 February Go Cornwall Bus, part of the Go-Ahead Group, started a revised network. The new network does not copy the old one exactly, so some route numbers, stops and timings are different from older guides. Always check the current timetable before you travel.

Tips for Travelling by Bus and Coach in Cornwall

Check the timetable for your day – rural routes can run only a few times a day, and some run on certain days only, so check that a return journey exists.
Look at the day tickets – an all-Cornwall day ticket or contactless fare capping can be cheaper than several singles (see the fares section below).
Use the app – the Transport for Cornwall app, on Google Play and the App Store, plans journeys and sells tickets, and the Plymouth Bus app does the same for Plymouth.
Arrive early for coaches – National Express advises arriving at least 10 minutes before departure.
Try park and ride – leaving the car at Truro's park and ride, or Newquay's summer site, avoids town-centre parking.
Check road works – for example, route 70A to Cremyll is on a diversion between 14 September and 2 October 2026. Look at the route page for changes.
