Bed & Breakfast Guesthouse
in Zennor
"At Zennor
one sees infinite Atlantic, all peacock-mingled colours, and the gorse
is sunshine itself. Zennor is a most beautiful place: a tiny granite village
nestling under high shaggy moor-hills and a big sweep of lovely sea beyond,
such a lovely sea, lovelier even than the Mediterranean..... It is the
best place I have been in, I think" (D.H Lawrence 1916)

The Tinners Arms is the only pub in Zennor
and was built in 1271 to accommodate the masons who constructed St. Senara's
Church which is famous for its mermaid. With its open log fires, stone
floors and low ceilings it has changed little over the years and now offers
a traditional pub experience with real Cornish ales and carefully prepared
food using the best of local ingredients.
We do not aim to be a "gastro pub"
and you will not find a TV, juke box or fruit machine. Your mobile phone
will not receive a signal. This is a place for those wishing to enjoy
a quiet pint with some Cornish cheese in front of the fire or some locally
caught fish on the terrace which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.
Situated about 4 miles from St Ives just off
the B3306 this journey was recently voted the best Sunday drive in the
country.
Situated next to the Tinners is the White
House, a Grade II listed building, which used to be known as Bos Cres,
Cornish for "house in the middle".
Built in 1838, the White House was extensively
restored and modernised by the present owners in 2005 to provide two double
ensuite rooms and two single rooms which share a bathroom. All guest rooms
are situated on the first floor.
All the luxuriously furnished bedrooms
are light and airy with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathrooms
are equipped with powerful showers and a selection of soft white towels
and toiletries.
Traditional English breakfast using
local produce is cooked on the Aga and served in the farm house style
dining room at a time to suit you from 7.30 to 9.30 a.m. Lunch and dinner
or a light snack is of course available in the Tinners every day of the
year. Pack lunches are available to order. Luggage forwarding is also
available by arrangement.
