Ford Cottages are a group of attractive single and two storey
cottages converted from granite barns that formed the original farmyard.
Set at the end of the stone farm lane in a secluded valley
bounded by a stream, they have easy access to the footpaths that wander
through the beautiful grounds of the National Trust Lanhydrock House,
extending down to the lovely Fowey river valley.

(Sleeps 4)
Stream cottage is idealic, tranquillity eludes from a `babbling
brook' that runs gently through the secluded garden and makes a perfect
retreat. Stream is a detached single story cottage set apart from the
others. Entered from the courtyard into a hallway and into an open plan
lounge/dining room with original beam ceilings. Stream includes fitted
kitchen, with electric cooker, fridge/freezer and washer/drier. One large
bedroom with double bed, a second bedroom with twin beds, a family bathroom
and separate WC and basin.

(Sleeps 6) (No pets)
Foxglove is another country favourite, the vibrant wildflower is
found in hedges that frame this cottage and create a tapestry of vivid
colour and scent. A two-storey cottage in the corner of the courtyard,
with living area upstairs takes full advantage of the spectacular views.
The access to Foxglove is via the original granite steps, now railed this
unique feature sets the tone to come. As you enter into the spacious lounge/dining
area you will notice the magnificent high-beamed room with exposed Cornish
trusses, leading onto a raised patio and garden. There is a fitted kitchen
with electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/drier. On
this level there is also a cloakroom, showroom and separate WC with hand
basin. An internal staircase leads down to the ground floor where there
is a large family bathroom. Foxglove has 3 bedrooms, a double bedroom
with double bed, a double bedroom with twin beds, and the third bedroom
has twin beds suitable for children (beds = 2ft 6")

Brambles cottage is perfect for a romantic break. At the far end
of the courtyard, this single-storey cottage has its own secluded patio
with magnificent views sweeping down over rolling fields, bramble clad
hedges laden with an abundance of Cornish wild flowers. Entered from the
courtyard into a hall there is an open plan lounge/dining room with fitted
kitchen, electric cooker, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. A large cosy
double bedroom and bathroom.

Honeysuckle is the smell of the summer, creeping over hedgerows
and adorning buildings with its elegant buttermilk colour and delicate
scent, it's the perfect country accessory. A two-storey cottage entered
from the courtyard directly into the lounge/dining area and spacious living
room divided sympathetically by the central staircase. The lounge opens
out onto the patio and communal gardens and is adjoined by a fully fitted
kitchen with electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/drier.
A shower room, WC with hand basin is also on the ground floor with an
additional family bathroom upstairs. Honeysuckle has 3 bedrooms, a double
bedroom, a twin bedded room with hand basin, and the third bedroom includes
bunk beds.

Cowslip is another delicate wildflower found in the lower meadows
and marshes by the streams and lakes of Ford. A single-storey cottage
with spacious living opens directly onto the patio and communal gardens.
Entered from the courtyard into a hallway it opens into a large living
room with lounge/dining area and an offset kitchen fitted with electric
cooker, fridge/freezer and washer/drier. There are two bedrooms, one double
bedroom with ensuite and a twin bedded room and large family bathroom.

(Sleeps 4) (No pets)
Byre cottage is located at the top end of the courtyard opposite
Stream. Byre is the old name given to the cowsheds where the cattle were
tied in stalls and milked by hand. Byre has its own special character
with a double-pitched slate roof, open in parts exposing the natural beams.
This single-storey cottage is entered from the courtyard and opens into
the hall, which steps down into lounge/dining with a door leading out
onto the patio. The offset fitted kitchen includes, electric cooker, fridge/freezer
and washer/drier. There are two bedrooms with double and twin beds respectively,
the latter has a hand basin. There is a separate large family bathroom.

 All
cottages are tastefully furnished with good furniture, curtains and pictures.
All have interior sprung mattresses, quilts (12 top) and plenty of pillows,
electric kettles, irons, Hoovers, microwaves, central heating and colour
TV and video players. All cottages have individual billed telephones,
a cot and high chair (if required) and washer dryer.
Fitted carpets are on all floors expect kitchen areas and bathrooms which
have easily washable flooring. Electricity is £1.00 meters.
Pets are welcome in Stream and Brambles by arrangement. Dogs are
to be on leads at all times around the cottages. There is a charge per
pet per week. Please bring pet's own bedding.
Directions to Lanhydrock Farm Cottages
From the M5 at Exeter, take the A30 to and into Bodmin, then take the
A38 towards Liskeard.
After joining the A38, take the second right at crossroads signposted
Lanhydrock, Lostwithiel and Fowey. Go along the lane for one mile to mini
roundabout. Turn left, signposted Lostwithiel.
At the bottom of the hill (approximately
¼ mile) turn left into lane. Signpost for Lanhydrock Farm Cottages is
at entrance to lane.
Follow lane for approximately ¼ mile till you reach the complex of cottages.
Car park is through the wood fencing on your right prior to the complex.
