WEST CORNWALL BEACHES
St Ives, Whitesand Bay, Land's End, Sennen, Porthchapel & Porthcurno

St Ives is one of Cornwall's premier destinations for holiday makers due to its beautiful beaches and mild climate. This bustling town is also popular with art lovers for its array of craft shops and galleries include the Barbara Hepworth Museum and the Tate Modern.

Porthminster is the first in a line of golden sandy beaches popular with families and surfers alike. Further west the popular beaches of Whitesand Bay, Porthchapel and Porthcurno offering fantastic bathing and spectacular coastal scenery.

A one mile north facing crescent of soft, golden sand surrounded by hills which offer good protection. A popular family beach due to the safe bathing offered. Easy access from car park.

A popular beach comprising of a large crescent of soft golden sand with views across St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse. Sheltered position and safe bathing available. North east facing.

A small but popular beach on the North side of St Ives harbour. Popular with families due to its sheltered position on the east side of St Ives Island. A small cove of soft golden sand. East facing.

A large wide expanse of soft golden sand on the Western side of St Ives. A popular surfing beach which is overlooked by the St Ives Tate Gallery. North facing.

PORTHERAS

Though a very pleasant north west facing beach of excellent white sand. Visitors should be aware of the sharp metal fragments embedded in the beach resulting from a dynamited shipwreck. There are no facilities or parking.

A west facing, mile long stretch of golden sands with rocks appearing at low tide. East access from car parks. One of only two blue flag beaches in Cornwall and highly recommended for surfing. At the far end of the beach is an unofficial nudist beach.

A small but lovely, sheltered south facing beach with beautiful scenery. Access is via a 10 minute cliff path walk which is unsuitable for push chairs or wheel chairs.

A lovely, south east facing, beach of fine white sand. Stunning coastal scenery. There is a small flight of steps to the beach. Access is via a five minute walk down an unmade but accessible path from the car park.

LAMORNA
