Lizard Point is Great Britain's most southerly point. The peninsula offers spectacular coastal scenery as well as some excellent family beaches including Kynance Cove with its fine white sand.

 


The popular harbour town of Falmouth offers plenty of accommodation, pubs/restaurants, shops and café's as well as regular ferry trips across the bay to St Mawes with its magnificent castle. To the south of the town is Falmouth Bay which offers some great family beaches including Swanpool and Gyllyngvase.

Very small harbourside beach at low tide only. West facing. The attractive National Trust harbour is the principal reason to visit the cove. 5 minute inclined walk from the car park.

KYNANCE COVE

A popular, attractive south west facing beach of fine white sand. Though largely covered at high tide, there are many surrounding area on which to picnic and sit. The beach is reached after a ten minute walk using unmade paths and steps which will prove difficult for those with pushchairs.

CADGWITH

Two small east facing beaches in front of an attractive fishing village. The main beach is home to the village's fishing boats and consists of grey shingle.

A large, popular beach of sand and rocks, especially at low tide. South east facing. Surrounding grassy areas are a good alternative for sunbathing when the tide is high. Flat and easy access from parking area.

Overlooked by an attractive fishing village, this small east facing beach of sand and rocks is largely covered at high tide. Easily accessible via a short walk from car park.

Limited east facing beach of stone and shingle flanked by granite quarry workings. Parking on the beach. Popular with divers departing for the offshore Manacles Rocks.

A limited grey sand beach with stones and shingle. East facing. Attractive, in many ways, more as a fishing village than a bathing area. Cars may be parked alongside the boats on the beach.

An attractive east facing sandy cove, sheltered between small headlands. Flat and easy access from adjacent parking. A great location for walking the coastal path, north towards Falmoth and south towards Rosemullion Head.

Falmouth's largest and most popular beach, consisting of a fine crescent of sand backed by well kept gardens. Popular with families for its safe bathing and size. Level access from adjacent parking. South east facing.
