Dairyland Farm World
A former working farm attraction near Newquay, Cornwall (Permanently Closed)
Summercourt, Near Newquay, Cornwall TR8 5AA
Dairyland Farm World was a real working farm near Newquay that, for decades, gave visitors a genuinely hands-on introduction to farm life. Rather than a static petting zoo, it offered pony and tractor rides, bottle-feeding and milking demonstrations, and the chance to meet a changing cast of lambs, pigs, rabbits, chinchillas and chipmunks up close.
Alongside the animals, the farm ran a large indoor play area known as the Bull Pen, complete with slides, fireman's poles and tumble towers, making it a genuine all-weather day out - a gift shop and tea room, known for its home-made ice cream, rounded out the visit.
The farm closed permanently on 3 November 2024, after a final week of Halloween activities. Despite strong visitor numbers under new management in its later seasons, the business said it had been unable to recover from the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic combined with rising operating costs. All of the farm's animals were found new homes to ensure their welfare.
The site's owners have said they want to transform the location into a mixed-use destination - a farm shop, cafe, play area and workspace for local small businesses - and the Paulos Circus has continued to use the grounds as its base. As of the most recent information available, it isn't confirmed whether this redevelopment has opened to the public in full; anyone hoping to visit should check locally before making a special trip.
