Churchtown Cottages are a small group of holiday homes, converted from the ancient manor house of St. Gennys and its farm buildings, close to the twelfth century parish church. Set amongst fields and hedgerows, and bordering National Trust land, there are panoramic sea views which extend out to Bude Bay, Lundy Island and the Atlantic.

St. Gennys is a small cluster of traditional Cornish buildings, set high on a hill above Crackington Haven, with breathtaking views of the North Cornish coastline.

The hamlet lies between Bude and Boscastle, an area of great natural beauty, which has remained unspoilt and yet is the nearest stretch of Cornish Coast to London and the Midlands, being only four and a half hours by road. It offers both safe bathing and sands for small children, as well as excellent surfing.

Nearby are the attractive harbour and quaint old street of Boscastle, the Old Post Office and Castle of Tintagel, the old market town of Launceston and its castle, the space and beauty of Bodmin Moor and the sandy estuary of the River Camel with sailing and other activities.

There are National Trust properties within easy reach; golf can be played at Bude, Holsworthy, and Launceston. Riding is available on the moor, or under cover at Tall Trees Stables, Davidstow. The Camel Trail offers excellent cycling, with bikes for hire.

Crackington Haven Wharrastone Holiday Cottage

Wharrastone sleeps 4 (one twin and one double).

The Self-catering holiday cottages have been recently re-furnished.

They were converted from an old granite barn and all rooms in both cottages look over the field to the sea.

The cottages have a lawned garden and a paved terrace area and picnic table. They are well equipped with comfortable sofas, flat screen TVs and and wood burning stoves. Wi-Fi is available.

Smoking or vaping is not permitted in either cottage.

Each kitchen has an electric cooker, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher etc. Central heating is included in the holiday cottage rental also an initial stock of coal or logs in the colder months

All bedlinen is included -Towels are also included (but not beach towels).

Cots, mattresses (no bedding) and high chairs may also be supplied at no extra cost.

A laundry room with washing machine, dryer an iron and ironing board. The room also has ample space to keep surf boards
or hang up wet clothes.

Ample free parking is provided, and dogs are welcome in both cottages.

The nearest shop is a good village store at Wainhouse Corner, with an off-licence, Post Office and petrol station. The main shopping area is Bude, about 9 miles away, with a large Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Sommerfield Supermarkets

To eat out there are some good pubs and restaurants in the vicinity and an excellent family pub by the Crackington Haven as well as two cafes.

Beaches are close by. Crackington Haven beach, a 15 minute walk on the Coast Path from the cottages, is sandy with rocks and pools at low tide. Widemouth Bay is a vast expanse of sand and plenty of beachside parking. Bude has several good sandy bays and an indoor swimming pool. Trebarwith Strand has a large sandy beach at low tide.
