Stunning Moorland Views
Railway Cottage has recently been restored in keeping with
the original construction. All rooms have slate flooring and exposed wooden
beams in the ceilings and all the benefits of modern facilities including
gas central heating.
Built with the construction of the North Cornwall railway
in 1880 for the railway workers and subsequently occupied by local farmers,
Railway Cottage has recently been fully restored in keeping with the original
construction.
The cottage has 3 bedrooms that can comfortably
accommodate 4 to 6 people. The double lounge has a feature fireplace containing
a wood-burning stove, which gives the cottage a cosy atmosphere,
especially in the winter and at Christmas time. The kitchen has been fully
fitted with modern units and appliances to ensure that you have all the
comforts of home.
Railway Cottage is located midway between the towns of
Camelford and Delabole, being 1 mile from each and is situated on top
of a hill, giving it fabulous views to the south over Bodmin Moor and
'Brown Willy' the highest point in Cornwall.
The beautiful Trebarwith Bay, famous for its terrific
surf and the idyllically located Port William Inn are only three miles
away. Other great surfing and swimming beaches are Polzeath and
Rock - each only 6 miles from the cottage. The North Cornwall
Coastal Path follows the entire length of the Cornish coast and can be
accessed locally.
There are a range of local activities including King
Arthur's Museum, the Cycle Museum and the Energy Exhibition,
all within one mile of the cottage. Camelford Leisure Centre with
its indoor swimming pool is 2 miles away.
A little further afield are the attractive harbours and
fishing villages of Port Isaac, Padstow and Boscastle
- where you can enjoy walking around picturesque streets and shops or
visit high quality local pubs and restaurants. For the fishing enthusiast
there is a well stocked trout lake at Delabole and if your preference
is for sea fishing, there is plenty of beach and boat casting available.
This section of the North Cornwall coast has missed most
of the holiday developments of the last few decades and remains some of
best unspoiled coastline in England. The sheer cliffs, exhilarating surf
and terrific coastal walks are a perfect setting for those who enjoy surfing,
hiking fishing and anyone who is searching for an escape from the fast
lane.
