You will be made to feel very welcome at our traditional and charming thatched home. Starting life around 1800 as a basic two room cottage, New Thatch has been extended and updated over the years and now provides all the comforts of modern living, while retaining its chocolate box looks. The spacious en-suite rooms are individually furnished to a high standard, with thick pile carpets, top quality linens and super comfortable beds. You will have a well stocked hospitality tray, tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridge or cooler, hairdryer, multi-channel flat screen TV, and free WiFi broadband (bring a WiFi enabled laptop or PDA). The modern en-suite facilities are complemented with large fluffy towels and a selection of toiletries. Each room has its own mini library, with books of local interest and information about local attractions. Enjoy a delicious full English breakfast with all the trimmings at your own table in the attractive beamed dining room. Most of the breakfast ingredients are sourced locally, from the farm cured hand sliced bacon and special recipe sausages, to the Lizard honey and home made marmalade. We also cater for vegetarians and can accommodate most special diets. For motorists, there is secure off road parking; if you are walking, we will transport your luggage, while you walk the coast path in comfort; and, if you are cycling, we have secure storage space for bicycles. New Thatch is situated in the heart of Ruan Minor, a peaceful village within very easy reach of the picturesque fishing village of Cadgwith, as well as many scenic coves, beaches, hamlets and magnificent coastal footpaths. The air is free of pollution and starlit nights are an experience in this part of the world! The Lizard Peninsula has a wide variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes and tearooms. A good pub and seasonal restaurant are within walking distance of New Thatch. Towns and places such as Falmouth (home of the National Maritime Museum), Truro (with its beautiful cathedral), historic St. Michael's Mount, Penzance, Land's End and St Ives are within easy driving distance. Numerous wonderful gardens are nearby, and a visit to the world famous Eden Project makes an excellent day out. Your hosts Tim & Moira Hurst assure you of genuine hospitality, good food, comfortable en-suite rooms and a stay to remember. No
