Cove Cottage is tucked away down a long track in the most
stunning location with the sub-tropical, woodland garden reaching down
to the rocky beach below the house.
An opportunity to unwind, relax and awaken your senses to
the magic of hidden West Penwith. Ideal for couples who want to get away
from it all and enjoy one of the most romantic views in Cornwall.
A walker's paradise! We are situated on one of the
more remote locations of the South-West Way and walking in either direction
is simply stunning. The unrivalled scenery of this part of the coast has
inspired artists, poets and authors for many generations.
Some of the most spectacular beaches in Cornwall are within
a short driving distance of the cottage. Fabulous Porthcurno with the
Minack open-air theatre and Sennen Cove with its famous beach café.
Magnificent panoramic sea views from the luxurious four-poster
suite, which is light and spacious with a king-sized bed boasting the
ultimate luxury of a Vi-sprung mattress.
Books are in abundance alongside maps and walking routes
for you to study at your leisure. There is underfloor heating for the
chillier times and comfy sofas to snuggle up on. Alongside your bathroom,
which has large Victorian and double shower; there is a drying room.
There is also television, a CD player, DVD player and a
small fridge. Guests can choose to eat breakfast on the geranium-filled
terrace or, in their spacious room overlooking the sea as it breaks over
the rocks below.
St Loy
St. Loy is reputed to be the warmest cove in the United
Kingdom and the vegetation reflects this. The woods of the valley stretch
down to the boulder strewn cove. Towering echiums reach high above glossy
acanthus alongside the stream bordering the garden with tree fern and
gunnera providing a sub-tropical backdrop for the more tender plants within.
Spring comes early to us and from late January the valley
is filled with daffodil and narcissi in abundance, followed by a carpet
of bluebells.
Birdlife is varied and fascinating ranging from the sight
of diving gannets, circling buzzards, to the tapping of woodpeckers, alongside
tame chaffinch and the occasional shy hoopoe. We often see the basking
sharks cruising around the cove in warm weather as well as the thrilling
sight of leaping dolphins and our resident seal who usually spots us first!
There are excellent restaurants in Penzance, St. Ives, Mousehole
and Sennen Cove and the local pubs also provide great atmosphere and bar
food.
Out of high season we offer sumptuous suppers served by
candlelight in your room on some evenings (by prior arrangement)
Breakfast is to die for!
We grow our own organic vegetables and keep free-range hens
and bees.
Sleep with the sound of the sea in your dreams.
Awake to the call of the seabirds circling the Penberth
fisherman pulling his crab pots. Breakfast on the terrace while watching
the local diving boat checking out the abandoned wrecks beneath the surface
of the Cove.
Take off, in your own time, to explore the delights of Penwith
Sue & John White offer you a warm welcome in their very special environment.
