Being that we are so close to Port Isaac and generally the Sea, one of the Inns specialities is fresh seafood. We serve a selection of lite bites and meals at lunchtime and a more comprehensive menu in the evening. Our resident chef, Tim Appleby prides himself in producing tempting tasty meals to suit all. Our chef Tim Appleby started his career at the Inn some years ago. The last 10 years he has hit the gastro pub scene in London.lived and worked in Australia and more recently at a bistro in St Ives. Traditional Engish,Modern European with Middle Eastern twist. 2nd in the Kitchen Ratana Davis from Thailand, Thai Night once a month. Sunday Roast(all year) is a popular event. A choice of 2 or 3 meats that are locally sourced with a large selection of seasonal vegetables.

We have a good wine list covering wines from Europe and the New World. Real Ales are very popular here especially the local Sharps Brewery from Rock. Pendoggett Special Bitter, brewed especially for us and Doom Bar are among the most popular..

Local Area

The village of Pendoggett lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Situated in the heart of the village a mile or so from the sea (as the crow flies) it is without doubt, one of the last unspoiled places in the British Isles. Hidden beaches and coves are just a short drive away, and the Coastal Path is within walking distance. We are an excellent base for exploring both the coast and countryside and popular with golfers and walkers.

The Cornish Arms is located on the B3314 between Delabole and Polzeath. Close to the Coastal Path with its fabulous scenery and breathtaking views, but equally near to the wonderful countryside and walks on Bodmin Moor seeking out that “watering hole” serving some fine real ale.

Port Isaac of Doc Martin fame is walkable down through the valley. A 40 minute stroll down and 1hour hike back, through the green fields and wild flower strewn valley by the stream. Stunning!!!!!

We are blessed with an abundance of activities. Polzeath famous for surfing, Rock with its sailing and water skiing schools are approximately 5 miles away. The family beach at Daymer Bay with its rock pools and safe swimming will keep the family occupied for hours on a sunny day.

Padstow, a quaint fishing Port and famous now with Rick Steins empire, is accessable by foot ferry from Rock or a 35 minute drive. From here you can take a boat trip, fishing trip or high speed” buzz” around the bay. Fishing trips are also available from Rock and Port Isaac.

The old market town of Wadebridge some 6 miles , offers good shopping, public swimming pool (indoor) lots of eateries and access to The Camel trail with many cycle hire venues. The Trail goes South to Padstow and North to Bodmin.

The championship golf course of St Enodoc at Rock with its 2 courses is a must for keen golfers. Other courses close by are Trevose, Bowood, Lanhydrock, and St Mellion. A fairly new golf course, Roserrow at Polzeath, offers a range of activities including a gym, swimming pool, tennis and a resident Hairdresser. See Golf Breaks
The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are ideal outings for a change from sun and sand. Both approximately 1 hour away.
