Just imagine waking up and strolling along
the river bank to the local baker to collect your freshly baked croissants
for breakfast and enjoying them outside on the balcony overlooking the
river in the morning sunshine. Later, perhaps explore the beautiful woodland
on foot or take a cycle ride along the famous Camel trail right outside
the door towards Padstow and the Sea.
Wadebridge and Padstow are fantastic holiday
locations - close to the Camel Trail; a disused railway which provides
up to 17 miles of wonderful level cycling or walking. Cycles can be hired
locally or you could bring your own.
The most popular route is the scenic 6 miles
down stream from Wadebridge to Padstow as the estuary snakes it way towards
the sea.
Or why not take a trip in the other direction
and visit the nearby Award winning Camel Valley winery? There is also
ample fishing in the area. There is a good variety of shops including
a supermarket, selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes and a great cinema
with the latest films but old fashioned comfy seats all within a quarter
of a mile. There is a Leisure centre including an indoor swimming pool
within 1 mile.
Wadebridge is a great location for exploring
the beautiful North coast with the lovely sandy beach at Rock, the magnificent
surfing beach at Polzeath and the delights of Padstow or rugged Bodmin
moor within 6 miles.
There is an excellent Sea Life Centre in Newquay
and the Extreme Academy at Watergate Bay offers adrenaline sports such
as kite surfing.
Culinary experiences abound in the area including
the renowned Jamie Oliver 15 Restaurant at Watergate Bay. Or perhaps
enjoy Fish and Chips or a meal at one of Rick Steins famous eateries
in Padstow.
Tintagel with its legends of King Arthur is
an easy morning trip, as well as the lovely old harbour at Boscastle.
Also, the beautiful house and gardens to explore at Llanhydrock are not
to be missed.
The South coast is only 30 minutes drive away.
The fantastic Eden project is a short car journey and has something for
everyone. Garden lovers will want to spend a day at the famous Lost Gardens
of Heligan. The city of Truro with its lovely Cathedral and most High
Street shops is also well worth a visit.
