If a holiday with a roof over your head is what you’re looking for then there is a choice from 8 timber cabins, 4 Cedar wood bungalows or 6 static holiday caravans, all fully equipped for self-catering.

For the more adventurous, the touring caravan and camping area has 29 pitches, 6 of which have electric hook-up; there is designated campers’ shower and toilet block – with solar hot water - and with laundry facilities.

We believe having space is a right, not a luxury, so you will find all the accommodation areas, including the camping pitches, are designed to create ‘a little world of your own’ amongst friends.

We offer a holiday experience where you can get in touch with nature and the wildlife; a centrally based haven from where you can enjoy what Cornwall has to offer. It’s ideal for families (there is an unsupervised play area for the children), groups of friends and couples who wish to stay where there is no bar, no disco…and no bingo. However, we do have an on-site shop for basic groceries, locally sourced produce, ice-creams/confectionery, a selection of soft and alcoholic drinks plus camping gas and equipment.

Log Cabins

Set amongst the trees, our 8 lodges blend perfectly into their natural surroundings. The lodges offer all-year-round comfort, whatever the weather; they each have a covered walkway and verandah, a decking area with alfresco eating facilities and, more importantly, a sense of privacy as the lodges do not directly overlook one another.

Each lodge can sleep up to 6 in 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge. There is a well equipped kitchen/dining area and bathroom with shower. The lounge has a colour TV and comfortable seating. Bed linen, duvets and pillows are provided, but please bring your own towels. Cots and high chairs are available if required - please request them when you make your reservation.

The lodges are available from the beginning of March through to the New Year Bank Holiday. Short breaks may be taken at any time except during July and August when the minimum stay is for one week.

We welcome well behaved dogs but ask that they be kept on a lead whilst within the grounds.

Holiday Bungalows

Our 4 cedar wood bungalows are well positioned with views across the valley site, they have ample surrounding space for eating outside (each has its own picnic table), sun-bathing or just relaxing with a good book.

The bungalows offer all-year-round comfort, whatever the weather, and a sense of privacy as they do not directly overlook their nearest neighbour.

Each bungalow can sleep up to 6, with 2 bedrooms (a double and a twin) plus a sofa bed in the lounge. There is a well equipped kitchen/ dining area and bathroom with shower. The lounge has a colour TV and comfortable seating. Pillows and duvets are provided but guests are required to bring their own bed linen and towels. Cots and high chairs are available if required - please request them when you make your reservation.

Caravans

Nestled in amongst the trees there are 6 static caravans each with its own designated picnic area and adjacent parking space. The caravans are positioned to create a feeling of seclusion and privacy set in amongst nature, not regimented lines as on many sites... this helps to minimise noise without creating a sense of isolation.

Each caravan has all services - a full sized cooker and fridge in the kitchen and a colour TV in the lounge - and its own bathroom and toilet. There are 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge - accommodation for up to 6 people.

There are laundry facilities with washing machines, tumble driers and ironing equipment provided.

The static caravans are available from the beginning of April through to the end of October. Short breaks may be taken at any time except during July and August when the minimum stay is for one week.

Camping & Touring Caravans

A strong desire to avoid the rigidity or row upon row of tents and touring caravans means that we limit the number of pitches to 29, spread over 4 designated camping areas:

The Main Field is a tree lined field just over an acre in size and has 16 pitches, 6 of which have electrical hook-up facilities.

Ideal for tents The Wood has 5 pitches and the First Fairing and the End Field each have 4 pitches.

The site has a campers' shower and toilet block with solar hot water supply; there are laundry facilities with washing machines, tumble driers and ironing equipment provided.

Camping Pods - Tent Free camping…

A new addition at Ruthern Valley Holidays for 2008 is the Camping POD, a timber built, insulated wooden hut specially designed to be used like a tent but with the advantage of it being already set-up on the site, ready for your arrival and use. Bring all the normal camping gear but do not worry about packing the tent.

Each POD has plenty of headroom and a floor area of approximately 8 square metres – ample space for 2 people or even 2 adults and 2 children. A key feature in the design was to accommodate the variable British weather, culminating in a POD with good ventilation for the hot days and lambswool insulation for those chillier times - a wooden ‘tent’ for all situations with the additional benefit of lockable patio doors.

Camping POD has a number of benefits for the visitor:
• Already set-up when you arrive
• More privacy and security than a tent
• No wind whipping or flapping to keep you awake
• No putting up and taking down of wet tents
• A decking area for dining, sunbathing and chilling out
• A guaranteed dry place should the weather get a little damp
