The Core...
Opened in June 2006 by HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh The Core provides the visitor with a deeper understanding into "learning to live with the grain of nature."
Inspired by nature itself The Core's architecture is based on the Fibonacci Sequence, producing a spiral effect - 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34 (every number is the equation of the previous two) much like a pineapple, a snails shell and a sunflower.
The Core is purpose built to entice the scientist, the
artist, the child and the individual in each of us, making education a
matter of intrigue instead of the chore so many of us see it as. Fuelling
the imagination with interactive yet sustainable technology this new education
centre is well worth incorporating into your next trip to The Eden Project.
