Skateparks & BMX Parks in Cornwall

From an internationally rated concrete bowl in Newquay to two indoor skateparks, a dedicated BMX race track and a free 24-hour pump track - here's where to skate, ride and race across Cornwall, plus a Plymouth option.

Back to Activities

Cornwall's wheeled-sports scene runs from free, open-access council skateparks to purpose-built indoor facilities and a proper BMX racing track. The standout is Concrete Waves in Newquay - a free, internationally rated skatepark with a retro-style pool, an internationally significant bowl and a full street run, built by Maverick and opened in 2018. Cornwall also has two dedicated indoor skateparks: the long-established Mount Hawke Skatepark near Truro, and TR7 Skatepark, which reopened in a bigger new home in Roche after relocating from its original Newquay site.

Elsewhere, Poltair Park Skatepark in St Austell and Bude Skatepark both offer free outdoor riding for skateboards, BMX bikes and scooters. For a genuine pump track, Par Track near St Austell is Cornwall's stand-out option - a free, 24-hour community-built facility suitable for BMX, skateboards, scooters and wheelchair users alike. If it's BMX racing you're after rather than freestyle riding, the Cornwall BMX Track at Blackwater, near Truro, is home to Cornwall BMX Racing Club and hosts regional British Cycling events.

If you're staying in or travelling via Plymouth, Central Park Skatepark offers a training bowl, street section, snake run and quarter pipe within easy reach of South East Cornwall.

Wadebridge pump track: proposed, not yet built

Wadebridge Town Council has been consulting on plans for a new pump track at Egloshayle Playing Fields, with a public consultation running into July 2026. As of the time of writing, this pump track has not yet been built - we've left it off the map and card list below until it's confirmed open, and will add it once construction is complete. Check the Wadebridge Town Council website for the latest.

Good to know before you go

  • Most outdoor skateparks are free and open access: Concrete Waves, Poltair Park, Bude Skatepark and Par Track don't require booking or payment.
  • Indoor venues charge admission: Mount Hawke and TR7 are privately run and charge session fees; both also offer lessons and coaching.
  • The BMX track is club-based, not drop-in: Cornwall BMX Track at Blackwater is used for organised racing and training through Cornwall BMX Racing Club rather than casual public access - contact the club to get involved.
  • No dedicated pump track at Bude: despite sitting near the skatepark, Bude currently has no pump track - Par Track, near St Austell, is Cornwall's main dedicated pump track.
  • Confirm accessibility: Par Track is designed to be wheelchair accessible; contact other venues directly about step-free access before visiting.
