On the premises there is a launderette with washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities; barbecue, games and recreation room. Each apartment has a car parking space in our private car park. Within a five minute walk lie both the picturesque harbour at Mevagissey to our east with its many shops and restaurants, and the sandy beach with safe bathing and free public slipway at Portmellon to our west. In the incredibly narrow and attractive streets of this old fishing village the fish cellars of the past have been converted into the shops and restaurants of today and retain a most relaxing Old World charm. A writer once said: 'There is probably nowhere in England a finer specimen of the typical fishing village than Mevagissey. The little harbour with its pier and breakwater, the immense cliffs on either side, the crowded fishing boats; the crowd of gulls that half obscure the sky, the houses stuck in all sorts of ways on the cliffs, or crammed together in narrow streets on the little level behind the harbour, all combine to form a picture that lingers long in the memory.' Treloen is open all year and Cornwall is an ideal destination at any time with its particularly mild climate, making it especially beautiful in the Spring and Autumn There are many National Trust Properties, Stately Homes and Gardens for you to seek out and enjoy. The award winning "Lost Gardens of Heligan" forgotten for more than seventy years, are the scene of the largest garden restoration project in Europe and they are only a few drive minutes away or can be reached by public footpath. Treloen is on the Southwest Coastal Footpath and makes an ideal base for ramblers exploring the many scenic walks. |
