Rock Beach and the Camel Estuary is a paradise for
water lovers, offering sailing, kayaking, water-skiing, stand-up paddle
boarding, fishing and bird watching trips. The ferry and evening water taxi
can be taken from Rock to Padstow, a small yet bustling historic fishing
town across the estuary. Padstow has many shops, bars and restaurants on
its harbour front and narrow streets, including Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant.

Surfing and body boarding at Polzeath is excellent and safe, with lifeguards patrolling the beach in the daytime for much of the year.
The local golf clubs, St. Enodoc and Roserrow, are only a short drive away. Both can also be easily reached on foot for interesting walks. Walking is varied, with gentle walks along the beaches and the golf course and farmland footpaths, to the more strenuous yet spectacular North Cornwall coastal footpath. Cycling along the Camel Trail offers great views of the estuary and River Camel. Bikes can be hired from Padstow and Wadebridge, with the trail continuing well beyond Bodmin.
