Falmouth is a historic port on the edge of the Lizard Peninsula. The town is famous for its large harbour overlooked by Pendennis Castle. Popular with families because the town offers a large variety if attractions, including Gyllyngvase Beach a blue flag beachwithgently sloping golden sand and plenty of rock pools to explore at low tide where you can find shrimps and crabs. Paddle boarding and kayaking equipment can be hired, but other activities such as beach volleyball or just admiring the view are all free.
The town and harbour are only a 10 minutes walk away, and from there ferry, bus and train journeys can be planned to local places of interest, such as Truro, St. Mawes and the Helford River.
