Porthtowan is a small village on the North Cornish Coast. It is set in an attractive cove with a large sandy beach, bordered by rock pools; perfect for all the family. Porthtowan's blue flag beach is renowned for surfing, with lifeguards present throughout the season.

Porthtowan is a short drive from St. Agnes, Truro and Newquay. The Eden Project is approximately 45 minutes away.

Walking

At low tide you can walk along the beach to Chapel Porth, a National Trust beach and back along the coastal footpath

Surfing is terrific and there are local surf shops that provide surf lessons and equipment at reasonable cost for all ages and abilities. The Blue Bar Is on the beach and provides good food and refreshments all day in a convivial atmosphere, enjoyed by adults and families alike. In the evening there are often live bands and a DJ.
