It is a spacious, well-appointed cottage-style house set in 3 acres of lovely grounds in a truly spectacular position right beside the beautiful Helford River. It is the Owners' second home and as such is very well equipped and in first class condition. South facing, with direct access to the beach and river, Ridifarne enjoys the best of Cornwall’s gentle climate. The uninterrupted view from the terrace running the whole length of the house 20m above the river is breathtaking.

Local Attractions SAILING & CRUISING Falmouth is a mecca for sailors everywhere, with its huge protected natural harbour and its long history of ships and sailing. The Helford River with its sheltered moorings is at the West end of Falmouth Bay, giving it immediate access to the harbour and the open sea. For the less adventurous Ridifarne is 5 minutes walk from the famous Ferry Boat Inn where you can hire sailing and motor boats, or rent a mooring if you bring your own boat. GARDENS Cornwall is a gardener’s paradise with many famous and outstanding gardens including The Eden Project, Glendurgan, Trebah, Trewithen and the Lost Gardens of Heligan all within an hour’s drive, making Ridifarne a wonderful base for a garden visitor’s holiday. A special time for this is the Cornish Gardens festival which takes place every Spring. WALKING The Cornish cliffs offer spectacular walking for all levels of energy and enthusiasm. The Cornish Coastal Path – 250 miles of well tended and clearly marked footpath – crosses the river by ferry 5 minutes walk from the house. SIGHTSEEING There is plenty to see in Cornwall. The highlights include Lands End; the Lizard peninsula; the Tate of St. Ives art gallery; internationally famous surfing beaches; Goonhilly Satellite Tracking Station – the largest in the world; the Eden Project, an incredible display of plants from every climate, in a spectacular setting; as well as the charm of the fishing villages and pubs for which the County is famous. RELAXING If that all sounds like hard work, spend the day on one of Ridifarne’s terraces enjoying what must be one of the best views in the UK. |
