Polmark House is traditionally built in Cornish Stone, with an old fashioned elegance, yet boasting every modern convenience. It is situated in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the North Cornish Coast. This is linked by the Cornish coastal footpath that provides access to arguably some of the most rugged and stunning scenery in the county.

This coastline is popular throughout the year being sublime on hot summers day, with azure blue seas and secluded rocky inlets. In the winter months it is the ruggedness and wildness that attracts many visitors so whether you choose to take time out on your holiday or to pursue some of your hobbies, the area around Polmark House has a great deal to offer.

At Polmark House you can truly relax, with Harlyn Bay, well known for its spacious fine sandy beach and rockpools just 200 yards down the road. Harlyn has long been a popular holiday resort providing excellent bathing facilities together with some excellent surfing. If that's too far, then why not relax by the side of our own pool, which in the summer forms a perfect suntrap with all the amenities close to hand.

Self Catering Apartments
We have 4 self catering apartment suites, which sleep from 2 to 6 people. These are all equipped with modern appliances to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Each apartment has en-suite facilities and a spacious living space. A laundry facility is also available at The Polmark.

Morwennol (sleeps 2/3)

A first floor apartment comprising  a large lounge with luxury new kitchen and a bedroom with en-suite shower/toilet. The apartment has been refurbished during 2003/4 and is equipped with luxury Bosch appliances. Spectacular views from the lounge and bedroom look across Harlyn Bay and Gulland Rock.

Tygry (sleeps 4/8)

Located on the first floor of the West Wing of the house overlooking the swimming pool and the west of Harlyn Bay towards Trevone. The family apartment sleeps 4 and features a large living room/kitchen with Bunk-beds and a luxury en-suite bedroom with bath/toilet. Additional en-suite bedrooms can be booked to extend the size to sleep 6/8 people. 

Stenar (sleeps 2/3)

This is a ground floor apartment in the west wing of the house comprising of a lounge, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. A sofa bed in the lounge maybe used as an extra bed.

Gwylan (sleeps 5/6)

Located on 2 floors in the East wing of the house Gwylan features a first floor lounge/dining area together with an en-suite double bedroom. A further en-suite twin is on the ground floor. Views from the apartment are over the house lounge terrace and open countryside towards St Merryn.

Bed and Breakfast at Polmark House

The bedrooms are comfortably furnished and have tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms have en suite facilities and televisions. DVD Players and Video Players are also available at an additional fee.

Polmark House offers a lite bite menu in the evening, If you would like to eat out, then there is an abudance of local restaurants that we can recommend, and book for you, from the Harlyn Inn with it's carvery, to Michelin star restaurants within 1 mile.

Things to do
Polmark House is ideally situated, only 3 miles from the quaint fishing village of Padstow, famous for its Seafood School, brought about by Rick Stein. If you fancy learning to surf whilst down then based at Harlyn is its very own surf school.

If golf is more your scene then Trevose Golf Club, with its views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean is only 1½ away, and Merlin Golf club 3 miles more. Within easy reaching distance as well are places such as St. Eval Go Karting Track, St. Merryn Parachute Centre, and the world famous Eden Project.

Around & About

The nearest village to the Polmark House is St. Merryn which contains restaurants, pubs and convenience stores to suit all needs. The nearest main towns are that of Wadebridge and Newquay. Both provide a much wider range of shopping and leisure facilities. There is swift access out onto the A30, providing an excellent route to Truro, the county's capital as well as a quick route in and out of the westcountry. Newquay airport is only 15 minutes away, providing shuttle flights to and from London for under £20.
