Polgwedhen at Greenbottom, near Chacewater, just west of Truro.
Surrounded by its own 10 acres of gardens, lake
and pasture fields, the setting is idyllic, quiet and completely secluded. Our
guests enjoy strolling around the lake which is home to a host of wildlife or
relaxing in the peaceful gardens. Our recently refurbished
bedrooms are either double or twin and have en suite shower/WC/handbasin, tea/coffee
making facilities, TV and hairdryer and look out over the gardens to the lake. Breakfast
is either Full English or Continental as required, cooked on the AGA and served
in the Sun Lounge overlooking the gardens to the lake beyond. There is also a
sitting area in the Sun Lounge for our guests.
For the holidaymaker - we are situated in
lovely countryside within easy reach of the magnificent North coast beaches
and the lovely creeks, coves and sailing waters of the South coast. The
Great Gardens of Cornwall and all major first class tourist attractions
are easily accessible. Walkers will enjoy the tracks and footpaths in
the surrounding countryside. We are always happy to provide information
on tourist attractions and local events.
For
the business traveller - we are just 5 minutes off the A30 and ideally
situated for the commercial centres of Truro, Redruth, Camborne, Falmouth and
Newquay. We are former hoteliers and ran a Country House Hotel
for some 20 years. Now we very much enjoy welcoming guests to Polgwedhen. |
