ACCOMMODATION
The award-winning house was built in 2004 to an exceptionally
high standard. The design achieves a wonderfully clean and light contemporary
feel inside with much use of natural stone and high quality building materials
for the exterior. There is an underfloor heating system with individual
thermostatic controls for each room, the latest high-spec insulation and
double glazing. Penarvon House featured in the television programme "Fantasy
Homes by the water" in 2007 and one quote in the visitor's book was
'This house certainly has the WOW factor'. This is the owner's second
home and is as a result tastefully and thoughtfully decorated and equipped
to a very high standard.
This spacious house sleeps 10 with 3 double bedrooms having
5' and 5'6" beds all ensuite, a twin bedded room with a separate
bathroom and a games room with twin beds. All bathrooms having baths and
separate showers. Two of the double bedrooms and the twin bedded room
have French windows leading out into the garden. The other double bedroom
is on the 1st floor with a stunning view, electric blind and pop-up television.
A glazed entrance hall off which there is a cloakroom and
a very well appointed utility room with washing machine and tumble drier,
opens out to a large, light kitchen/dining area with French windows onto
the terrace and breathtaking views across the river. Both this terrace
and the one on the other side of the house have garden furniture. The
fully fitted kitchen area has double Neff ovens, Neff ceramic four ring
hob and twin induction hobs and a Neff dishwasher. There is plenty of
storage and a fridge and freezer (additional large fridge with freezer
is in the utility room). The beautiful dining table made by a local craftsman
easily seats 12. Four wide steps lead up into the spectacular drawing
room, 15 metres in length, with views in every direction and several seating
areas. There is a large plasma screen television system with DVD, CD and
Sky+. A large open fire is at one end making it warm and cosy in winter.
The games room has a television and DVD player also a small
billiard table. There is a drying room next door to the games room and
a clothes line in the large double garage for hanging wetsuits etc.. There
is a good sized lawned garden looked after by a part-time gardener.
LOCATION
Helston is 15 minutes drive away and Truro about 50 minutes.
There are local shops in the villages of Helford, Manaccan
and Mawgan and a farm shop at Gear, they are well supplied and we like
to support them. Retallack Butcher in St Keverne (01326 280252) will deliver
meat on Friday.
Otherwise you will find most things in Helston including
a good Tesco, but Truro has several large supermarkets, Marks and Spencer's
and some excellent shops.
