Why not try our Winter Breaks? Ye Olde Malthouse Inn is reputed to date back to the late 14th century and has over the years retained much of its "olde worlde" charm whilst catering for modern day comforts.
Our dining area has a slit window in the fireplace wall and a beamed ceiling. We have an old well which is around 40ft deep and may have been used for the brewing of beer in bygone days. Ye Olde Malthouse abounds with antiquity, a tunnel was discovered at the back of the Malthouse going down to the Vicarage. This has now been boarded over, lying beneath the present drive leading up to the car park.
The bar has a full On Licence, allowing drinks without food if required and has a fireplace and beamed ceiling. Drinks may be taken into the TV Lounge or drunk in the bar area. The restaurant offers a varied menu, including a la carte and full fish menu (speciality) with fish sourced locally.
There are lots of activities within easy reach such as
sea fishing, horse riding, golf and the Eden Project. Tintagel is situated in the picturesque north Cornish coast. Legend has it that here the infant Arthur was heaved up by the Atlantic into Merlin's Cave (Tintagel), so here the search for King Arthur must begin. North Cornwall has a past teaming with interest, which can be experienced by visiting the multitude of museums found throughout the region. There are numerous beaches to visit, within a short distance of Tintagel, including: Castle beach, and sandy beaches such as Trebarwith Strand, Bossiney Cove and Polzeath. There are also some lovely coastal walks along the National Trust footpaths. There are also wonderful gardens to see such as Lanhydrock
and The Lost Gardens of Heligan and at St Austell, The Eden
Project. All in all, there is a surprising amount to see and do
within a very short distance of Tintagel. So why not pay us a visit! |
