The Apple Loft is part of old stone buildings that form the farm's courtyard and has been converted to retain many of its features. It has original stone work, exposed timbers and double doors through which apples were once loaded. Open these doors on a balmy summer's evening, watch the swallows and bats performing their acrobatics across the yard and enjoy the view down into the Tamar Valley.

Situated in the beautiful Tamar Valley, in the sleepy village of Latchley just two miles from Gunnislake, the Apple loft provides light and spacious accommodation for two people (and a baby or toddler). Park your car in the farmyard and walk up a few wide granite steps to the path that leads to the Apple Loft's front door.

Step down into a hallway with storage space for coats and muddy boots and walk through to the large airy living space with well equipped kitchen area.

Full central hearing and a wood burning stove ensure comforting warmth in autumn, winter or early spring. (Ample supplies of kindling and logs free of charge) Attractive surroundings, period pine furniture and a comfy sofa provide everything you want for a relaxing week away from the hassles of modern life. The Apple Loft is equipped with dining table and chairs, colour television, DVD player digi-box and radio. There are books, maps and local information as well as a few games and toys for young children. The kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave, Belfast sink and fridge. A short flight of steps lead up to the mezzanine sleeping platform with a double bed. There is a cot, high chair and stair gate available for a young child. The bathroom offers a full size bath with shower, lavatory, and wash hand basin with light, shaver point and hair dryer.

Outside the Apple Loft there is a private courtyard garden with garden furniture and barbecue overlooking the orchard. Enjoy your breakfast or lunch in the sunshine, pick herbs for your salad.

You can order a casserole supper to be cooking in the oven ready for your arrival.

Join in routine activities on the farm, follow the farm path through fields and woodland, discover badger sets, see industrial archaeological evidence of copper mining, picnic by the River Tamar, watching for the flash of a kingfisher or the leap of a salmon. Buzzards are often seen flying in the valley and there is an abundance of other birds and wildlife. Revel in the peace and tranquillity.

The Tamar Valley is an area of outstanding natural beauty rich in heritage and wildlife. Visit the National Trust properties of Cotehele and Buckland Abbey. Discover the valley's mining heritage at Morwellham Quay. The Garden House and Endsleigh House top the list of gardens and specialist plant nurseries you can visit. There are great places to eat, excellent local produce and beautiful crafts to buy.

The Apple loft offers a wonderful base to explore further afield as well. Visit the Eden Project, the new National Maritime Museum at Falmouth, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth museum.
