Nanplough is a working farm, the cottages and Manor house are surrounded by 24 acres of farmland on which sheep and horses graze. There is also great deal of wildlife including birds in the gardens and on the land. During the summer the swallows dip and dive around the barns and pool and the buzzards patrol the valley all year round. As it is a private pool it is never overcrowded and always a perfect place to while away an afternoon in the sun. Nanplough Farm - a holiday for all seasons In springtime the cliff paths are quiet, sea-pinks and gorse blaze with colour and nearby Helston pipes in the summer with the world-famous floral dance. BED & BREAKFAST at NANPLOUGHNanplough Country House is an imposing stone and granite built house, elegant and spacious with a warm welcoming feeling. Built in 1887, the year of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, it retains the grandeur of the Victorian age with the benefit and comfort of modern bathrooms and heating. The house is luxuriously furnished throughout. The drawing room is a very large room with comfortable leather sofas with a wood burning stove, a favourite spot on a chilly evening. Both this room and the dining room have large picture windows looking out over the wooded valley with gentle pastures beyond.
Sunrise Room Breakfast, which is cooked fresh to order with home-made bread and locally sourced ingredients, is served from 8am to 09:30am in the large sunny dining room. Our guest rooms are all king-sized, spacious, and lavishly comfortable (two have four poster beds). The rooms are en-suite and have flat screen TV/DVD's, refreshment trays and have far-reaching countryside views. Discover Cornwall from NanploughNanplough is ideally placed to make the most of your holiday in Cornwall - being on the northern edge of the Lizard Peninsula. We are close to the road networks for easy journeys to the rest of Cornwall, or you could easily fill your days with all the activities in and around the Lizard and surrounding coves and beaches. For the adventurous surfing, Coasteering and kayaking is available on the Lizard - if something less energetic is what you are looking for then there are fishing trips, horse riding, and golf all close by. Children will love the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, and Flambards, the largest theme park in Cornwall. That's if you can drag them away from our own play area and swimming pool! The coast path is one of the most dramatic and beautiful in the UK (in our opinion!) with an abundance of wild life and wild plants native to Cornwall- the beaches at nearby Poldhu, Gunwallow and Dollar Cove (where it is said over 2 tonnes of dollars were lost in a shipwreck in 1785 and never found!) are ideal for those just wanting to relax, and also for those with children looking for rock pools and all the wildlife they contain. Whatever you are looking for in Cornwall - it will not be far away from Nanplough.
