Wheal MartynWheal Martyn China Clay Heritage Centre

Historic trail - discover the history of this important Cornish industry. Open air historic clay workings, indoor exhibitions, displays and audio-visual show. 1899 locomotive. Working waterwheels and 1916 Peerless lorry.
Nature trail - a mile long walk through the beautiful wooded site and spectacular views of a modem day working clay pit. Children's Adventure Trail - picnic area. Mineral display, gift and pottery shop.

Cornwall's Maritime History, new "Cornwall and the Sea" exhibition. Falmouth Post Office Packet Service. Ship building, Trade and Ports. Cornwall's involvement in maritime wars, HMS Cornwall, and other displays. Marine paintings, ship models, navigation and marine instruments, tools etc.

Launceston Steam RailwayLaunceston Steam Railway

Launceston Steam Railway runs through the beautiful Kensey valley from Launceston to the hamlet of New Mills. The narrow gauge locomotives were built in Victorian times and are among the oldest in regular use. The railway terminus (close to the ancient walled town of Launceston) also provides a buffet, book and gift shop and a transport museum. Trains run at frequent intervals from 11am - 4.30pm.
