The main beach, (plus shops & restaurant) is at the bottom of the hill, about 70 yards. The pub (with large garden) is further up the hill and around the corner about 3 minutes walk. The path to Gorran Haven's second - more secluded beach, 'Little Perhaver' runs alongside Marigold and is a pleasant retreat.

Gorran Haven Beach

The Cottage:

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a double, a single (with en suite wc) and a twin all with sea views over cottage rooftops. Downstairs, there is cosy reception room with open fireplace, TV & DVD player; bathroom with shower over bath and a spacious kitchen dining room.

The kitchen has microwave, electric cooker, under counter fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine and is fully equipped.

There is a larder freezer in the garage. There are night storage heaters and halogen heaters are available if needed. Linen and towels are provided and electricity is included.

Hillside Cottage

'Hillside' is a comfortable 3 bedroom, Victorian semi-detached house in Gorran Haven, a former fishing village that retains much of the charm and character of its fishing and boat-building heyday and has a fine family beach and small harbour.

The house is 80 yards from the beach on a quiet lane adjoining National Trust Land. The coastal path, through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, begins just down the lane 30 yards from the front door.

Property layout & details:

The house is available for whole weeks, short breaks and weekends from September to Easter and it is a lovely retreat for romantic breaks and a comfortable base for coastal walkers and garden visitors. We can suggest good local restaurants or arrange your choice of food and wine to await you when you arrive. We can also arrange a taxi to and from St Austell station or Newquay Airport. If you would like to walk all day we can arrange for you to be brought back again or taken to your next starting point.

The House can sleep up to 6 people and has a pleasant secure garden with a view of the sea and coastline. It has a many original features, (slate floors, sash windows, original bath etc) but is newly furnished, decorated and equipped. Heating & comforts: Electric oil filled radiators and electric blankets are there if needed, but the Aga keeps things cosy. The Log Burning stove in the sitting room is ideal for snug days and evenings in. There is SKY TV, video & DVD, radio & CD player; also books, board games & toy box for younger ones.

Towels, linen and beach towels are supplied and heating costs are inclusive. There is a baby gate fitted, also cot with baby linen, high chair & children’s cups, plates etc. In the enclosed garden there is a covered sand pit and shed containing various outdoor toys, body boards, buckets & spades etc.

The Area: 'Hillside' is on Foxhole Lane, which is the edge of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty owned by the National Trust that stretches west to Dodman Point (Iron Age fort) and beyond.

The South Coast Path, takes you, through a lovely sea/landscape of cliff and heath, to secluded beaches at Vault and Hemmick. Inland, there are quiet woodland walks. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are 5 miles away and the Eden Project is 14 miles. The area is very good for bird and wildlife enthusiasts and a happy spot for family holidays.

Harbour Hill

A comfortable modern bungalow 100 yards from the beach. It sleeps up to 6 in one double, one twin and a single (with 2nd pullout bed). Deck in 60'x45' garden

The property has sea views from the kitchen and main bedroom and also from it's large sunny, lawned garden, which also has deck, garden furniture, BBQ etc.

There is parking for 2 cars outside the house. The house is newly decorated and furnished to a high standard and has wood flooring throughout except in bedrooms where there is cream fitted carpet. The oil fired boiler supplies central heating and constant hot water.

Accommodation: Entrance lobby opening to cloakroom with wc & basin and large sittingroom with leather sofas, 28" TV, DVD, fireplace and French doors to garden; there is a dining area with dining table and chairs for 8. Adjacent to this is a well equipped and attractive open plan kitchen (microwave, electric hob and oven. under counter larder fridge, radio etc). Nb. in garage there is washing machine, tumble dryer and larder freezer, for use by guests.

Harbour Hill is at the end of a short private driveway off Foxhole Lane, the quiet hill that leads down to the beach on the south side of the village. The lane borders the National Trust land nature reserve around Dodman Point and the South Coastal path is a short walk from the front door, leading to lovely cliff walks and two further, more secluded beaches at Vault and Hemmick. This is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Pengarth

Pengarth is a newly refurbished, modern one bedroom apartment annexed to the main Pengarth house. It is quietly situated on a private lane about 120 metres from Gorran Haven beach and has sole use of a large lawned garden and Summer house. There is parking by the front door and the access and accommodation is all on one level.

Pengarth is just off Foxhole Lane in Gorran Haven and it is conveniently placed between the holiday houses Hillside and Harbour Hill, so it could be a lovely quiet retreat for grand parents on holiday with a family group, but equally would suit independant guests.
A good place from which to explore the beautiful scenery of the Coastal Path which begins 50 metres away..

It has a large Livingroom with modern fitted kitchen at one end, full size dining table and seating for four in the middle and comfortable sittingroom area at the far end overlooking the garden.

The bedroom can be arranged to your prefererence - with either a kingsize bed or twins.
There is an ensuite showeroom.
Pengarth House is a large modern bungalow which is divided into two separate dwellings. The seaward end is Pengarth Holiday Apartment and has sole use of the large lawned garden behind. There is parking by the front door.

At the entrance, there is a south facing conservatory with wicker chairs. A pleasant place to relax with fushia hedge to the side. From the sunroom the inner front door opens into the kitchen area which has fitted units, a fullsize fridge freezer, a dishwasher, fitted electric double oven and grill, electric ho, microwave and all the usual kitchen equipment. Through a large archway is the wooden dining table with four leather dining chairs and sideboard opposite. Beyond this there is a comfortable four seater leather sofa and coffee table and rug arranged conveniently for watching the (32 inch flat screen) tv or for looking at the garden through the large window beyond. There is a dvd player and also Freeview box.

The bedroom opens from the sitting area and has a large window to the front of the house, letting in lots of light. The bed has the option of being made up as either a kingsize or as twin beds according to requirement. There is a large fitted wardrobe with sliding mirrored doors and large window to the front of the house. The en suite shower room has a glass shower cubicle with good quality electric shower. There is also WC and pedestal sink. Walls are tiled, vinyl flooring.
The other half of Pengarth house is occupied by the owners who enjoy their own separate garden and parking area.

 

 

Trelawney House

Trelawney is a big handsome but practical house 120 metres from the sandy beach at Gorran Haven. It has high ceilings, wood floors, warmth and comfort and chandeliers. A fantastic family holiday house, easy going pleasures for children (own tv room, & sandy feet happily accommodated on wooden floors) and relaxing adults. Much loved and great for both intimacy and entertaining. Honeymooners & gatherings welcome!

In the centre of the village, set up a steep driveway, Trelawney is a large victorian house with four bedrooms, two bathrooms (one ensuite) and two sitting rooms. Full Sky package, wifi, outdoor dining in pleasant terrace garden.

There's parking on the (steep) driveway, a 2 minute (maybe less) walk to the beach and cliff paths) and it has a lovely warm but slightly grand atmosphere. It feels comfortable and relaxing because it has been filled with soft sofas, luxury bedding and decorated in soft caramel colours.

The polished wood floors are warm and forgiving of sandy feet. The kids can watch tv or play on xbox in the rear sitting room. The house is unusually spacious and generously run. Nip in quick if you want to stay here!

Christmas and the blowy off season times are lovely here - cosy on the inside with plenty of scope for celebrating special occasions or perhaps just two of you enjoying time away curled up by the log burner or under a down duvet.

 

 

Treverrion

Treverrion is a good sized 4 bedroomed house with an enclosed, south facing garden at the back of the house, with lovely sea views. The beach and village are about 8 minutes walk. The house has lots of space and a lovely aspect, overlooking the sea (with binoculars you might see the seal family who live on the Gwineas rocks).

There is a large bright and open sittingroom with log burner and large glazed doors opening onto a good sized deck. Two sofa, flat screen tv, dvd player. When the french doors are open you look straight out to sea. The living space continues into a dining area with dining table. Beyond this there is a newly installed modern kitchen with integrated fridge freezer, ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave and all items required for comfortable cooking and dining.

The Ground floor twin bedroom has a pair of 3 foot divan beds and large window overlooking the front of the house. The family bathroom has generous sized glazed shower enclosure with good electric shower, there is a pedestal sink, WC and frosted window to the rear garden.
At the top of the stairs to the right is the Second twin bedroom with pine framed 3 foot single beds, a range of fitted wardrobes and a large window with a good sea view and also overlooking the rear garden.
The main bedroom has a zip twin divan beds and can therefore be a kingsize bed or twins according to your requirement. There is a range of fitted wardrobes and a dressing table area. A large window has a good sea view and also overlooks the garden and valley beyond. The en suite shower room with wc has another generously sized glazed shower enclosure and good electric shower; a pedestal sink, WC and good sized velux roof window. Vinyl flooring. OUTSIDE: At the front of the house there is an off road parking area for two cars and a pleasant small garden with shrubs.
The garage is used as a utility room and contains washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. The rear garden is reached by a pathway along the side of the house and through a gate. Surrounded by a fuscia hedge and fencing the garden is enclosed and is relatively private and not much overlooked.
It is south facing with a sunny asect and has great view of the sea. This is a great place to relax and for children to play (parents could stay on deck above..)
The heating is provided by modern electric radiators. Windows are double glazed and the house is well insulated. With the log burner this house works well for winter and summer stays.
