The Helford River

The Helford River is one of the most sought-after locations in Cornwall, loved for its mild climate, classic scenery and unspoilt, protected sailing waters -made famous by Daphne du Maurier's best-selling novel 'Frenchman's Creek' .

Nearby Falmouth is a mecca for sailors, with its large protected natural harbour and long Maritime history. Falmouth features many other attractions, including the National Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle and number of very good family beaches.

Cornwall is a gardener's paradise with many famous and outstanding gardens including The Eden Project, Glendurgan, Trebah, Trewithen and the Lost Gardens of Heligan all within an hour's drive.

There is plenty to see in Cornwall. The highlights include Lands End; the Lizard Peninsula; the Tate Gallery in St. Ives; internationally famous surfing beaches; Goonhilly Satellite Tracking Station - the largest in the world; the Eden Project, an incredible display of plants from every climate, in a spectacular setting; as well as the charm of the fishing villages and pubs for which the County is famous.
