The historic village of Boscastle has links with the famous authors Thomas Hardy, Sir Richard Grenville and Parson Hawker to name but a few. The little old cottages down the 'Old Road' to the harbour are a pleasant reminder of times gone by.

Boscastle is an ideal base for exploring Cornwall or North Devon, there are many historical houses and gardens to visit, or picturesque villages such as Port Isaac or Clovelly. The area has a number of golf courses for the more active as well surfing beaches and cycling.
You may of course just wish to take in the breath taking scenery of the coastline around our village. It is no wonder that the area is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and was a source of inspiration to famous authors and poets like Thomas Hardy and Sir John Betjeman.

The village welcomes guests throughout the year and there is always something to see or do.The Valency Valley’s Microclimate means that Ferns grow waist-high in July. Follow the river upstream—past stone bridges draped in ivy—to find waterfalls hidden behind curtains of foxgloves.
