Crylla CottagesLOOE (15mins) is a well known fishing port, has many souvenir shops, attractions and beaches ideal for children.

POLPERRO is a very interesting old smugglers fishing village and well worth a visit. Crabs and Lobsters are regularly caught and find a ready market in the local restaurants.

Beaches - We are within easy reach of a choice of sandy beaches such as Cawsands, Whitsands, Millendreath, Seaton, Downderry and Looe. Newquay and Bude on the North Coast, no more than one hours drive away, are famous for their surfing beaches. You will no doubt discover your own secluded cove as you explore the many magnificent clifftop and coastal pathways.

PLYMOUTH - (15 mins) Offers many attractions such as Plymouth Pavilions; the largest concert, exhibition and leisure centre in the south west, the Theatre Royal; with a programme of touring West End shows, Ballet and Plays. As well as the huge range of shops and museums, there are cinemas, discos, restaurants and many bars.

And don't forget to visit the historical parts of Plymouth... The PLYMOUTH HOE with views over The Sound, one of the finest natural harbours in the world, alive with all manner of sailing vessels. The BARBICAN steeped in Maritime history, still retains its charm and has changed little from Elizabethan times with its cobbled streets and alleyways dotted with excellent restaurants, gift shops and pubs.

Easy access to Dartmoor and Bodmin MoorMoors - We are only twenty minutes from the edge of Dartmoor's wild and rugged grandeur, where the famous Dartmoor ponies can be seen. A tour of the Moor is probably one of the most breathtaking and beautiful rides in Devon visiting places like Widecombe in the Moor, Two Bridges, Dartmeet, Haytor, Princetown and Tavistock, birthplace of Sir Francis Drake.

Historic Houses and Gardens - Visit the rolling parkland of Mount Edgcumbe and its restored Tudor House, or pay Antony House at Torpoint a visit- dating back to Queen Anne's time. Cothele, set on the River Tamar is a beautiful mediaeval mansion surrounded by gardens that lead down to the river. Saltram House (starred in the film 'Sense & Sensibility') - A Tudor Mansion boasting a virtually intact Georgian painting collection including ten by Reynolds. In addition the 17th Century Lanhydrock House largely rebuilt after a fire in 1881 is set in a superb wooded parkland of 450 acres.

Shopping - For general provisions a Waitrose superstore is two miles away, open all normal hours, Saltash town centre with all main shopping facilities is five minutes away by car. A fifteen minute drive takes you to the centre of Plymouth.

Eating Out - There is an endless choice of restaurants, eating places and pubs for your pleasure, offering well-known local specialities; the traditional Cornish Pasty, Cornish cream teas and locally caught seafood dishes all at reasonable prices.

The Eden Project

EDEN PROJECT - THE EIGHTH WONDER OF THE WORLD - A visit to the Eden Project will be a truly memorable experience. Nestling in the china clay pit at St Austell, this magnificent feet of engineering will take you through the tropics of another world. Here, we discover how we depend on plants from all around the world. Whatever your interest, you will be inspired by the whole thing.

SKIING & SKATING - Winter sports lovers can visit Plymouth Ski Centre for skiing and snowboarding on the dry slopes, or ice skating at the Plymouth Pavillions leisure complex.

FISHING - We have our own half-mile river frontage to the River Lynher for salmon and trout fishing. We do not make a charge for you to fish but you must have a current National Rod Fishing Licence in your possession, they are available from most post offices. Fishing is a popular local pastime, well featured in this area. There is also good trout fishing at Siblyback reservoir, Burrator Reservoir and the Avon Dam, all within easy driving distance.

SEA FISHING TRIPS - Available from Looe and Plymouth, which should be booked a day or two in advance. Details on request.
