The Accommodation

A 2 bedroom bungalow with bathroom, kitchen and sitting room. The bungalow has just been renovated and refurbished throughout.

The bungalow sleeps four comfortably - one bedroom having a double bed and the other, two single beds. There is a sofa-bed in the sitting room if needed (the equivalent of a double bed). The bungalow also has a small garden to the rear and views over the village.

Cleaning and all linen, except towels, are provided and the bungalow has been fully kitted out with modern appliances (including a dishwasher, microwave, TV, DVD and video-player) to anticipate your every need.

Children are welcome: there is room for a cot in the main bedroom and we have made various provisions for children, including both a travel cot and a high chair.

The Village

The bungalow is in the village of St Keverne on the Lizard Peninsula in South Cornwall. St Keverne is a very attractive Cornish village with a church, butchers, village store, newsagent, post office, restaurant and two pubs set around the village square.

The Area

St Keverne is surrounded by beautiful countryside and coastline, the sea being about 2 miles away. One of the nearest coves is Coverack, a very picturesque fishing village with a harbour and sandy beach at low-tide. Otherwise there are numerous beaches and coves to suit all tastes, among them Kennack Sands and the National Trust's Kynance Cove.

There are lots to do and see in the area…spring 2006 saw the start of Camel Trekking on the Goonhilly Downs just outside the village! About a 5 minute walk from the bungalow is Roskilly's Farm with its famous Roskilly's ice cream. You can also watch the cows being milked and the ice-cream being made, or eat at their restaurant.

Other attractions in the area, apart from the obvious abundance of good walks, include diving for wrecks off the notorious 'Manacles' rocks, fishing, and trips to places such as Goonhilly Earth Station, Flambards Theme Park, and the Lizard Point (the most southerly point of the mainland and home to Grey Seals and Choughs). Nearby, as well, are the scenic Helford River, with its various creeks, and the National Seal Sanctuary at Gweek. Some of the best gardens to visit lie along the Helford, including Trebah and Glendurgan.

Further afield, St Ives, Lands End, Truro and Penzance with Mount's Bay are all easy day trips from the bungalow. Other recommended day trips include the Eden Project near St Austell and the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth.
