Ives has much to see and do! Down by the harbour, it is as if time
has stood still, except for the comparatively new lifeboat, which can
often be seen being put captivatingly through its paces.
The variety of shops, pubs and cafes in the cobbled main street stay open during the summer months, well into the evening, enabling you to make the most of your day doing other things. There are the marvellous beaches, all with different activities from surfing to boat trips, fishing trips etc. Porthminster Beach, very well known for its safe bathing, is only 5 minutes walk from our hotel.  The
collector and book lover will not be disappointed with St. Ives, as
there are several antique and collectors shops and many art galleries
around, primarily the world famous Tate Gallery, with its restaurant
overlooking Porthmeor beach, which is really 'a must'. Both the railway and bus stations are close by and the scenic ride on the train to Penzance is one of the most picturesque in the country. The old fishing ports of Mousehole and Newlyn are but a short drive away, while further afield you have Cornwall's capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral. Flambards Theme Park for children and adults alike, St. Michael's Mount, Paradise Bird Park, Gweek seal sanctuary, the old Geevor Tin Mine at Pendeen - now a visitor Heritage Centre and of course Land's End and many more attractions are all available within easy reach for the more investigative visitors.
