ENDEAVOUR VISIT. The HM Bark Endeavour replica will be visiting Falmouth for 5 days, giving an exciting opportunity to experience life at sea in the 18th Century and learn more of Captain Cook, explorer, navigator and maritime pioneer.

May 26th - 28th

J24's FLORA CUP - One of the most successful one-design yachts, the J24 is competitively raced all over the world. The Flora Cup, a 3 day weekend event is expected to encourage over 25 boats, including a strong contingent of local competitors.

June 7th

The AZAB RACE- The AZAB short-handed race to the Azores and back attracts a wide range of competitors from the high-flier to the cruising yachtsman. The race starts from Falmouth on 7th June to sail to Ponta Delgada in the Azores and back, a distance of 2,400 miles.

July 4th - 6th SUNBEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS - The Falmouth Sunbeams boasting a current fleet in excess of 15 yachts will be racing for their Annual Championships. Dating back to the 1920s when they first appeared on the racing scene, these graceful dayboats from a bygone era still provide competitive sailing and a beautiful spectacle.

KRUZENSTERN TALL SHIP VISIT - The second largest tall ship in the World, the Russian Kruzenstern, will berth alongside County Wharf in Falmouth for 3 days. Tours on board the former trade ship will be available.

TALL SHIP TENACIOUS RETURNS TO FALMOUTH

The Tall Ship Tenacious operated by the Jubilee Sailing Trust returned to Falmouth on Friday 18th July having sailed with a crew of mixed physical abilities to two French ports leaving Falmouth on the 11th July. Thirty of the forty voyage crew were from Cornwall aged between 16 and over 80 with 3 young people from various parts of the country taking the Leadership At Sea challenge and qualifying for the Duke of Edinburgh Gold residential award by sailing successfully on Tenacious. THE FALMOUTH CLASSICS. The 15th annual Classics Regatta for traditional boats ranging from 6ft - 60ft and comprising of over 200 craft, is internationally renown and a weekend enjoyed by the whole community. Not only does the occasion create a great spectacle with some of the most graceful vessels in the world, it gives an opportunity to gather and celebrate friendships forged by sailors.

11th - 16th
THE FALMOUTH REGATTA. All week, each of the member clubs that make up the Port of Falmouth Sailing Association, host a days racing for nearly 400 boats. They are divided into 3 groups, racing in Falmouth Bay for the cabin yachts, the Carrick Roads for traditional fleets, with dinghy classes off Mylor. In addition to the racing there is a full social programme including lively evening entertainment, Falmouth Carnival and fireworks.

August SEDOV TALL SHIP VISIT - Built in Germany in 1921, the Sedov is the largest sail-training tallship in the World. A training vessel since 1952 she now carries 70 professional crew and 120 cadets and has become a familiar visitor to Falmouth. She will be open to the public again during her stay.
September 12th - 14th

LASER SB3 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - Some of the UK's hottest sportsboat sailors will contest in this new and exciting era of one-design sportboat racing.

GUL RS K6 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - High performance skiff-style sailing for 2-3 crew.

October
16th - 19th
FALMOUTH OYSTER FESTIVAL - Timed to coincide with the start of the oyster harvesting season, the festival celebrates one of the only remaining oyster fisheries still dredged under sail and oar. Oyster tasting, cookery demonstrations, live music, an oyster ball, local produce and craft fairs are accompanied by an exciting Working Boat Race.
