The cottages are all different, having been converted from the original barns of Wringworthy Farm. They were built in the early 1800's from local stone with slate roofs and are gathered around the lawns and swimming pool.

The conversions were thoughtfully and sympathetically carried out to a high standard and where possible the original beams and stonework have been left exposed. There is plenty of car parking space by each cottage.

Play for the Young and Not so Young
The cottages and farmhouse are set in about 4 acres. There are large, well kept lawns with tubs and baskets of flowers lots of space for children to play in safety and for others to relax. On the games lawn there is enough room to play 'lawn' football or cricket.

The heated swimming pool is 40ft by 20ft and is open from mid May to mid September. For play, there is a large sand pit, junior & senior swings, croquet, badminton, clock golf, horseshoe pitching, volley ball, boules, table tennis. In the games barn you will find a free pool table, snooker and multi-games table and small children's play area with plenty of toys, books and videos.

Small Children
0ur Visitors are always telling us that they find Wringworthy is perfect for their small children. There is plenty to play with, animals to touch and feed and above all it is safe - no traffic and little chance of young ones straying on to the road.

Cots and highchairs are available in all cottages

Animals
You will find some friendly animals about the place. We have a few free range chickens, ducks, two rabbits, two donkeys and sheep. Children are very welcome to help in the morning letting out the animals and again in the evening feeding and shutting up.

Wringworthy just a five minute drive to Looe, is surrounded by farmland in an area which is officially designated as a "Special Area of Great Landscape Value", with undulating hills, a patchwork of small fields with different crops, all interspersed with copses and woods.

A couple of miles to the South is the coast with spectacular scenery, rocky cliffs, woods tumbling down the hills to the beach, little sandy coves and the small, sheltered fishing villages such as the famous Looe and Polperro. Five miles to the North is Bodmin Moor, with its ancient mine workings, prehistoric stones and monoliths.

There is certainly plenty to choose from whatever the time or the weather. Within 5 miles we have the Monkey Sanctuary, the Looe Valley Railway, Liskeard Livestock Market, Lux Park Leisure Centre, Merlin Glass, Dobwalls Family Adventure Park, Porfell Animal Land and lots more.

Just half an hour drive away is the exciting Eden Project- 2 gigantic bio domes set in a 50 metre deep crater. Experience the rain forest in the humid tropics bio dome and the Mediterranean and desert in the warm temperature bio dome. Close to Eden is the magical 'Lost Gardens of Heligan' and of course the National Trust & English Heritage have several properties and gardens in the area. The historic city of Plymouth has lots to offer - theatres, shops on the Barbican harbour and wander on the famous Hoe where Sir Francis Drake played bowls.

Short Breaks and Activity Holidays
The cottages are available all the year round and you can have a cottage for as short a period as 2 nights in the quieter times. Looe 18 hole golf course is only one mile away and we can arrange discounted green fees for you.

Travelling to Cornwall is much easier now the fast road links mean that you can be with us in about 4 hours from London and the Midlands, Bristol is only 2 hours and in the off season periods the weather can be very mild making Cornwall an attractive short break destination.

If you would like to arrive on a Friday night at 10 or even 11pm, that's fine. We always turn on the central heating (if needed) at least 8 hours before you arrive and make sure that the water will be hot, the fridge is cold and get milk and eggs if you would like them.

DOGS
Dogs are welcome and we have several places to exercise them. However, they are excluded during the peak season months of July and August.

If you would like further details of our holidays and short breaks and check on availability.
