Five generations of the Griffin family have farmed at Wheatley since it was built in 1871 by the Duke of Bedford.

Bedford Cottage and the Barn are popular with families because there's plenty of space for children, while couples on their own often choose to stay in our Farmhouse and enjoy the delights of home-coked food and personal attention. Whatever you preference we extend the same warm welcome and high levels of service to everyone. Which is probably one of the reasons so many of our guests come back year after year.

Bedford Cottage (English Tourism Council 4 Star)

This pretty stone built Cottage is bursting with charm, from its slate and granite fireplace and rugs on the slate floors to wooden beams and the wood burning stove.

A video recorder is a recent and very popular addition to the Cottage. Outside there's a large garden with plenty of space for children to play, and a barbecue and garden furniture so you can make the most of meals in the fresh Cornish air.

Wheatley Barn (English Tourism Council 4 Star)

Sleeps 5 people in en-suite rooms

Once a wool store, the Barn is now an idyllic cottage in its own grounds where children can roam free. You'll love its special atmosphere, with stable door, beams and lintels. The bedrooms are on the ground floor so you can feast on panoramic views of the Cornish countryside from your first floor lounge/kitchen. Outside you'll find a barbecue and garden furniture.

Wheatley is a working farm so there's always something going on. The children visit calves as well as cows, cats and dogs. Incidentally, even if you're coming in summer, wellies and walking shoes are a good idea. Play area for children - swings, trampeline etc.
