7 miles from Polzeath and one mile from the market town of Wadebridge.
Ample safe parking. Ideal centre for those wanting
a peaceful location close to the coast, golf courses and beaches. Trewornan
is a short distance from the famous St Enodoc Golf Course and Roserrow
Golf and is close to Sir John Betjeman's favourite haunts and the picturesque
St Enodoc Church where he is buried. For birdwatchers we are next door
to the Walmsley Bird Sanctuary at Trewornan Bridge.
Rock is great for swimming, sailing, windsurfing
and water-skiing. The next bay on from this is Daymer which is
wonderful for young families as it is a very safe swimming beach with
rock pools. Polzeath, the neighbouring beach, is extremely popular
with surfers and has a large sandy beach with rock pools. Padstow can
be visited by catching the pedestrian ferry from Rock. Exploring its quaint
streets and harbour is always a pleasure. This fishing village is famous
for its 'Obby Oss' celebrations on May Day and Rick Stein's
Seafood Restaurant. Wadebridge is a pretty town on the river with
several cafes, pubs, restaurants and individual shops. The nationally
acclaimed Camel Trail to either Bodmin or Padstow along
what was once the old railway line can be explored by cyclists and
walkers alike and cycle hire shops abound.
St. Endellion Church is nearby and is well-known
for its annual music festival each Easter and Summer. Also the unspoilt
fishing village of Port Isaac, immortalised in several television
and film productions, such as 'Doc Martin' and 'Saving Grace',
is another favourite haunt and has several restaurants worth picking from.
Also, we are not far from the gardens of Pencarrow
and Lanhydrock. A bit further away again and well worth a visit
are The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
