Trewinnard was taxed in the Doomsday Roll and was an important trading settlement beside the river Hayle, in pre-Norman times. The cottages are approached by a long drive through Trewinnard Farm, which offers glorious farm and river walks on the owner's property.

About 3 miles from many sandy beaches on the North and South Cornish coasts, the property includes an outdoor swimming pool (July to September), a grass badminton court and a games room with table tennis and snooker.

Popular places to visit such as St Ives, Tate Gallery, Penzance and St Michael's Mount are only around 4 miles away, while Lands End, Minack theatre, Lizard peninsula, Truro and Falmouth are all within easy driving distances from Trewinnard.

Also very close by is the Hayle estuary, which is extremely popular with bird watching enthusiasts. Already world famous and most spectacular, the Eden Project near St Austell is only a 40 minute drive and is well worth visiting. The Star Inn village pub, which serves good food, is one mile away.

5 The Barn Cottage - Sleeps 4 + 2 Futons

Set around a courtyard, this modernised farm conversion has a very large open plan sitting/dining room and kitchen with modern facilities including dish washer, washing machine, microwave oven, electric oven and Rayburn cooker.

On the first floor, there is a double bedroom and a twin bedded room, both overlooking open farmland, with a bathroom and over-bath shower.

1 The Granary - Sleeps 4 + 2 Futons

This isa recent conversion of the farm granary. It has a very large open plan loft containing a "through" sitting room, kitchen and dining room. Downstairs there is a double bedroom, a further bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom with separate shower. It has the same kitchen equipment as the other cottages.

A Rayburn, coal burning stove and full central heating are available for winter lets.

4 The Farm Cottage - Sleeps 4 + 2 Futons

This is the original back of the 15th century farmhouse, which has recently been renovated and modernised. It has a very attractive fitted kitchen with the same appliances as the barn cottage above.

There is a separate sitting room. Narrow stairs lead up to the first floor where there is a double bedroom and a twin bedded room, with a bathroom and over- bath shower.

3 Parlour Cottage - Sleeps 4 + 2 Futons

Changeover day Friday - This single storey conversion overlooks a grassy courtyard. It has a sitting/dinning room with a small kitchen that has the same appliances as THE BARN and FARM COTTAGES.

There is a double bedroom and a twin bedded room, with a bathroom and over-bath shower.

2 The Flower House - Sleeps 4 + 1 Futons

A recently restored single storey conversion which overlooks a grass courtyard. It has a sitting room and kitchen/dining area with the same appliances as the other cottages.

There is a double bedroom, a twin bedded room and bathroom with over-bath shower. There is a coal burning stove in the sitting room and central heating is available for winter lets.
