Treveddoe is an 85 year old farmhouse set on the site of an Elizabethan Manor, facing south with uninterrupted views over its own farmland, on which sheep and South Devon cattle graze.

Holidays on Bodmin Moor

The fields behind the house at the top of the farm lead onto Bodmin Moor, a famous Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The moorland river Warleggan marks the southern boundary in the valley at the bottom of the farm, with good walks through the 25 acres of ancient woodland.

The bluebells, wood anemones and foxgloves are beautiful in the spring and early summer. Historic Treveddoe Mine (tin and copper), now almost hidden by nature, is nearby, with evidence of the old workings in the river valley.

Self-catering at TreveddoeThe farm is a bird-watcher's paradise and ideal for those who want a break away from the bustle and noise of everyday life. It is a tranquil and unique base from which to enjoy the best of Cornwall.

Both north and south coast are within easy reach, as are the famous Cornish gardens and now the Eden Project, which is only 20 minutes away. But it is always a great pleasure to get back to the peace of the farm after a day out.

From the practical point of view, there are good supermarkets in Bodmin and Liskeard and wonderful fish shops in Fowey, Liskeard and Port Isaac; Trago Mills is only 6 miles away for the intrepid bargain-hunter.

Staying Treveddoe makes a great holiday for all ages. Children find the farm itself is exciting and intriguing, and the sea is not far away. The tranquility appeals to the parents and the house is well laid out and easy to run. There are excellent golf courses within easy distance, (St. Mellion, St. Enodoc, Lanhydrock, etc.) and sometimes of course it is lovely to do nothing but enjoy the uninterrupted view. There is an upstairs room in the big barn across the farmyard which is ideal for letting off steam on rainy days.

Treveddoe sleeps 7 people + cot.

It has a stable door opening from an enclosed back yard into a boiler/laundry/cloakroom with a shower and WC off. The kitchen/dining room runs from the front to the back of the house, well-equipped and kept snug by an oil-fired Rayburn in colder weather. The views are spectacular.

The sitting room and study have recently been made into one room which is spacious, light and comfortable, with a woodburning stove. Logs are provided free. There is a small paved, partially walled garden in the front, giving onto a large mown area bounded on all sides by a Cornish bank.

Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms and one single and a generous sized bathroom. Treveddoe is well-equipped with a colour television and video, washing machines, dryer, dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and payphone. Natural spring water supply.

Central Heating, Electricity and Logs are included in the rental. Bed linen can be hired at laundry rates.

Pets are welcome if they are well-behaved, but this is a working farm with sheep and cattle, so it is important that pets are kept under control at all times.
