LOCATION
The North Cornish coast is famous for its beautiful countryside,
rugged coastline, and golden sandy beaches. The area has something for
all ages: Polzeath has one of the best and safest surfing beaches in Cornwall,
Daymer Bay is great for the bucket-and-spade brigade, and Rock provides
a haven for sailors, windsurfers and water-skiers. The Sailing Club accepts
temporary members and the sailing centre has boats for hire. Waterskiing
and instruction is available. Sea fishing trips can also be enjoyed from
the pontoon at Rock.
Walking along the coastal path and inland is extremely popular,
especially in the early summer when the wild flowers are in bloom. The
views are spectacular, particularly from Pentire Head and the Rumps. Visiting
the church of St. Enodoc, set in the middle of the well-known golf course,
is fascinating - recovered from the shifting sands, and now the burial
place of John Betjeman. There is golf at St. Enedoc and Roserrow Country
Club.
