The small village of St Merryn, is within 2 miles of 7 beaches and just 3 miles from Padstow. St Merryn, is convenient for a range of activities whether you want sand, sun or surfing as well as walking, golf, the South West Coastal Path, the Camel Trail and the Eden Project. A regular bus service runs from the village of St Merryn to Harlyn, Watergate, and Porthcothan Bays on its way to Newquay or Padstow. Alternatively, 7 bays are within 5 minutes drive of each other and Padstow, where there are numerous eateries, the Rick Stein Cooking School and Restaurant.

Porthcothan Bay - generally a crowd free beach that is popular for swimmers and bodyboarders. Porthcothan had a starring role as Nampara Cove in BBC’s Poldark series. There is no better way to start your Holiday in Cornwall, than a trip to Porthcothan. Explore the dunes or follow the cliff-flanked sands to the horseshoe pool. The southern end of Porthcothan beach features a secluded, smuggler’s cove, and a trip around the headland will take you to a group of islets that make a perfect place for snorkelling.

The Beach at Treyaron Bay

Treyarnon Bay - a popular family beach with backed by sand dunes, flanked by a large car park on the Eastern side; giving easy access. The beach is ideal for families with many rock pools, nooks and crannies for splashing and paddling. Treyarnon has a popular the tidal pool hidden in the rocks below the car park. The car park has a few stalls for beach gear and food and the Treyarnon YHA (on the eastern edge of the beach) is a nice spot to enjoy a cold drink and enjoy the stunning coastal sea views and live music sessions (throughout summer). Many people simply walk to the headland and sit on one of the the benches to enjoy the stunning vistas, or follow the path a few hundred meters to Constantine Bay.

Constantine Bay A vast sandy Surfing beach, backed with an extensive sand dune system. One of Cornwall finest surfing beaches, very popular with expert surfers (reef break ). A great family Beach day, with golden sands for expert surfers, giant sand dunes and rock-pooling. Easy access from the adjacent car park.

Constantine Bay is a wonderful beach for the family, although sometimes parking may get a little busy meaning it may be best to park at the Treyarnon Bay car park, and walk around the headland. The facilities at Constantine include a surf shop, toilets, and the lifeguard during the Summer & Easter period. Nearby Constantine in St. Merryn there are also pubs and restaurants available, perfect if you're on holiday close by!

Harlyn Bay. One of Cornwall's "must visit" beaches for the serious surfers - Harlyn Bay has heavy Atlantic swells in winter. More sedate waves during the summer months entice less experienced surfers and bathers to the more gentle waves of this popular crescent-shaped, sandy bay. Alongside surf schools and surf hire on the beach, you can also have a go at stand-up paddleboarding. The spacious sands at Harlyn welcome dogs all year-round. The coastal path takes you past the ancient remains of an Iron Age cemetery, as you walk towards the lighthouse at Trevose Head.

Trevone Bay a gently shelving "Blue Flag" beach surrounded by cliffs, located between Harlyn bay and Padstow. Trevone Bay is a popular family beach with many little alcoves where you can relax and soak up the sun whilst enjoying the stunning views. Families can enjoy discovering the wildlife in the rockpools along western edge of the beach or simply take a stroll along the cliff tops, to Trevone's the 80-foot blowhole formed by a collapsed sea cave.
