A Romantic
hideaway...
beautiful, cosy and exclusive!
A self-catering 2 bedroom cottage designed
to be a perfect romantic hideaway. The listed building is tucked
away down a quiet lane in the oldest part of Constantine village,
near to the popular sailing town of Falmouth.
The cottage sleeps 2, 3 or 4 with
a master bedroom and a twin bedroom that can be changed to a double
to suit.
There is a great choice of beautiful
sandy beaches nearby and attractions such as the Eden Project,
National Maritime Museum, St. Michael's Mount and the Cornish
Cyder Farm are all within easy reach.
Owners with dogs are always welcome.
The Accommodation
The former stable took over 4 years
to convert on a part-time basis by the combined efforts of the
Mullaly family and the valuable contributions of local craftsmen
to create a beautiful, cosy and exclusive home.
The heart of the cottage is the kitchen/
dining room, which is warmed by the Rayburn oven. It also has
a electric oven and hob, 2 fridges and a microwave. We can provide
a highchair for babies or small children if needed.
The ground floor bedroom has a single
bed that can be converted to a double and has its own wash-basin.
The master bedroom upstairs is adjacent to the bathroom with rolltop
bath, power shower, W.C, washbasin and heated towel rail. All
bed linen and towels are provided.
The 1st floor living room with its
exposed roof trusses give a great feeling of space above you,
whilst the huge sofa is perfect for cuddling up in front of the
wood burning stove. The view from the gable window extends over
the church yard to Goonhilly Downs on the Lizard. As well as the
colour TV and radio, a large selection of books, videos and board
games are available.
The change over day is Saturday. Prices
include all bills, logs, bed linen and towels. The owners of the
property live next door and are happy to help with any requests.
Parking
A single parking space is available
next door at Morwenna or if more space is needed the Village Hall
has a car park, just a 2 minute walk away.
Local Area
This area has a rich history of tin
mining and granite quarrying. Walkers and cyclists are spoilt
for choice and a variety of guides and maps are provided.
The village Spar shop is a minute walk
and the Constantine Stores (Post Office) is all of 3 minutes down
the hill and sells over 400 whiskies and fine wines.
The village has a great network of
local footpaths all annotated in a booklet compiled by a great
village patron 'Ronnie Rashleigh' we recommend you follow some
of his walks including to the nearby 'Blue bell' wood or down
to 'Scotts Quay' on the Helford River. A ten minute walk
over fields leads down to the Trengilly Wartha pub and restaurant.
Highly recommended for an evening stroll and stagger back with
a torch.
Within 10 minutes drive is Mawnan
Smith and the sub tropical gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan
(National Trust). 'The Ferry Boat Inn' is an ideal starting place
to explore the Helford River, a foot ferry plys across to the
Helford village and walks abound from there on.
The cottage is just a short drive
from a number of beaches, both large and small.
Sailing, canoeing and horse riding
contacts can be arranged through the Mullaly family when you arrive
or in advance.
