" Thank you - we had a lovely stay at your quite
cottage. It was full of character. Furnished and fitted to a very
high standard and had lots of extras that made the holiday that
much more special. The village is well placed for easy access to
the Penwith and Lizard peninsulas and the attractions to the east
such as the Eden Project. We would recommend staying here to anyone..." ""Lovely holiday, our second visit to the cottage in the last year. Love the paintings, don't want to go home." 26th June 2004 Lisa & Murray, Kent. |

Gunwalloe and the Lizard Peninsula
Gunwalloe lies on the coast between the towns of Porthleven to the west and Mullion to the south east, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It has an award winning pub/restaurant within walking distance of the Smithy.
There are also two superb tea rooms, one on the coastal path. For children there is a playground and field overlooking the sea at the top of the road. Church Cove is just around the corner, a safe swimming and surfing area leading to the wild cliffs of the Lizard with its many coves and geological features. Loe Bar (a natural inland lake facing the sea) lies between Gunwalloe and Porthleven. There is a beautiful park that surrounds it and bird sanctuary.
Porthleven is a lovely old fishing port with loads of character ..craft shops, many excellent restaurants and one of the best fishmongers in Cornwall.
Inland there is Helston a market town 5 mins drive from Gunwalloe with shops, banks and supermarkets. Falmouth, Penzance and St. Ives are all within easy driving distance and the Helford River on the east side of the Lizard is just 15mins away.
Boats can be hired along the Helford for trips down Fishermans creek. There are many stunning gardens and country houses to see and a local adventure theme park. Gunwalloe is a perfect location to explore south west Cornwall and the Lizard.
