The Old Granary InteriorThe Old Granary is situated in a stunning location, on a working beef/arable farm, enjoying spectacular river views in wonderful open countryside over the Fowey River Valley.

Nestling beside the farm is a beautiful 13th Century Church set on the edge of a peaceful riverside village, and is the perfect rural retreat to unwind and have a relaxing, enjoyable holiday.

ACCOMMODATION

The Old Granary was once used for storing the thrashed grain. The sheaths of corn were brought in at the back of the barn (Mowy Meadow) it was then thrashed and stored. There is a hoist on the front of the barn that was used to lower the bags of corn. The barn has been beautifully restored to a very high standard with traditional beams and lovely oak flooring. All rooms have wonderful country views over the Fowey Valley and from upstairs you can see the river with sailing and pleasure boats going up and down the Estuary to visit other creeks and inlets.

The Old Granary sleeps 8/10 people plus a cot. The barn is entered downstairs into a light hall way that leads to 3 bedrooms, 1 double bedroom with en-suite (WC, wash basin and shower) and 2 bedrooms with twin/triple beds with en-suite, both rooms have their own WC, wash basin and shower. There is also a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The oak stairway leads up to a spacious living, dining and kitchen area with a built in Rayburn for delicious farmhouse cooking and a very well equipped, fully fitted oak kitchen that includes a combination microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The living area has an open fireplace, a wide screen TV with DVD and Video player. There is also a radio and CD player. There are also a few children's games and books. It also has the master bedroom with a double bed with en-suite, (WC, wash basin and bath) and you can wake up in the morning to a stunning view over looking the Fowey Estuary. Absolutely perfect!! All bed linen, duvets, towels, electricity, cot, highchair, iron and ironing board, hair dryers and oil central heating are inclusive.

The patio doors from the living room lead to a decked area for sitting and relaxing in the afternoon and evening sun with a cup of tea or a glass of wine and perhaps a good book. This also takes you across a wooden bridge onto your very own large fenced lawn for children to play or just to sit and take in the ambience. There is also a patio area and barbeque. You can enjoy a game of pool or table tennis in the games room, or wander along the farm trail and enjoy the breathtaking views of the river, a stroll through the woods for a bit of bird watching or wildlife and perhaps spot a badger, rabbit or even a deer. Perhaps walk to Fowey following part of the route of the ancient 'Saints Way' footpath.

Just a five/ten minute stroll from The Old Granary is the peaceful riverside village of Golant that has a Pub that serves good food, an Art Gallery with local crafts and a children's village play area or perhaps go crabbing off the pier.
