Suitable for mature couples and families who love nature and appreciate peace and quiet and want to enjoy the 'real' Cornwall. Sorry, no singles parties. With attractive views across the valley, this is an excellent location for those seeking to relax and unwind. An ideal situation for easy access to both the north and south coasts, but away from all the hustle and bustle of built up areas. The cottage is situated in the small hamlet of Creegbrawse, which is about ½ mile from the village of Chacewater, where you will find local pubs, newsagent/foodstore, bakery, post office, doctors surgery, fish and chip shop, launderette, etc. Creegbrawse is an excellent touring base, just a few miles from the coastal resorts of Portreath, Porthtowan, Perranporth, St. Agnes, Newquay on the north and Falmouth, St. Mawes, Portscatho, Veryan, etc. to the south. The Eden Project and Heligan Gardens are 30 minutes away by car and Falmouth Maritime Museum is a short distance from the cottage. There are a number of superb gardens to visit including including Trelissick, Trebah, Trewithen, Probus, Tregullow, Scorrier House and Trengwainton to name but a few. If, however, you would prefer a day in the country, there are many interesting walks around Creegbrawse. A book is available detailing the history of, and walks (or rides) through, the Poldice Valley from Todpool. For those with an interest in the history there are many reminders of two hundred years of tin and copper mining in the area, and whilst nature has kindly softened the harsh contours of past mining, there are many miles of lanes and old tramways to explore, either on foot, bike or horseback. Bikes can be hired at nearby Bissoe on the Cycle Trail, which takes in the sights of old mine workings, and beautiful wooded valleys. The trail is surprisingly flat following the routes of the Redruth and Chacewater railway and the tram road to Portreath or the route to Devoran and Point. For the more energetic, take the Wheal Busy loop passing through unity woods and past Killifreth Mine, the tallest chimney in Cornwall. For those of you who enjoy walking, there are some breathtaking walks along the coastal paths. Riding stables for adults are nearby on the road to Twelveheads. However, Reen Manor Riding Stables, a 15 minute drive away, caters for adults and children. This is an excellent base for a two and a half mile ride on the golden sands of Perranporth or nearby bridleways, lanes and dunes. ACCOMMODATION There are two bedrooms, bedroom 1 with 4 ft 6 ins double bed and bedroom 2 with 5 ft double bed. A hairdryer is provided in each bedroom.
